Assistant Professor, Cardiology, Cardiorenal Cardiologist | University of Washington - Military Veterans

The Division of Cardiology in the Department of Medicine at the University of Washington, School of Medicine is recruiting for a full-time faculty member at the Assistant Professor rank (without tenure due to funding). Salary and academic appointment at University of Washington will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, and academic rank. Assistant Professors WOTare eligible for multi-year appointments that align with a 12-month service period (June 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. The successful candidate will be expected to have a research focus on cardio-renal preventive treatment in patients with diabetes mellitus and chronic kidney disease and have a strong commitment to patient care, medical education, and scholarship. This position will be expected to engage in clinical activities, teach, and build a research program. Teaching will include inpatient attending with fellows and residents, including bedside and didactic teaching. Mentorship of fellows is also expected, whether informal or formal. The anticipated start date will be July 1, 2024. The base salary range for this position will be $16,250-$33,333 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination.Other compensation associated with this position may include an administrative salary supplement (ADS), moonlighting opportunities, and incentive through UW Physicians practice plan. Applicants must have an MD or DO degree (or foreign equivalent) and be board certified/eligible in cardiovascular medicine (or foreign equivalent) and must be eligible for medical licensure in the state of Washington. Successful candidates must have an academic track record with evidence of publications and external grant funding. This may include a current career development award or fundable score. In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-US) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
