The Department of Neurological Surgery, University of Washington School of Medicine, invites applications for a full-time position (100% FTE) clinician-scientist, at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor without tenure, due to funding.University of Washington faculty engagein teaching, research, and service. The applicant's primary responsibilities includeclinical care, teaching, and research in the Department of Neurological Surgery. Specifically, we would ask that the applicant partner with our faculty to expand our comprehensive neurological surgery spine program. We expect the applicant to continue to advance our research interests including the acquisition of new and independent funding sources (private and federal grants) of their research within the first three years as faculty.The rank is commensurate with qualification and experience. Assistant Professors are eligible for multi-year appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. Associate and Full Professorshold indefinite appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. Title, rank and salary is commensurate with experience. The base salary range for this position will be $47,917 - $65,417 per month ($575,004 to $785,004 per year), commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. Other compensation associated with this position may or may not include Startup, Relocation Incentive/Moving Allowance Administrative supplement for a defined administrative role, or Productivity Incentive. The anticipated start date for this position is July 1, 2024. Applicants must have an MDdegree or foreignequivalent and be either eligible for board certification or be board certified. In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
