Union Solar Electrical Apprentice - Solar Star - Military Veterans

Mortenson is currently seeking a Electrical Apprentice to work on our team helping to build utility scale solar projects. Must be able to assist the diverse electrical team with electrical tasks. Safety is always the first priority, so you must be able to understand and abide by all electrical safety regulations, procedures and operations. You will train under the supervision of a journey-level solar electrician to learn the skills for the job. Helping to install, repair, and maintain solar energy equipment. Part of the position is installing new solar panels and maintaining of existing equipment.

The base compensation range for this role is $24.14- $48.29 per hour

KEY RESULT AREAS (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)
A. Measure, cut, and bend wire and conduit utilizing various hand tools
B. Safely utilize hand and power tools after proper training (Drills, Crimpers, Cutters, etc.)
C. Lift, position, and fasten objects
D. Prepare, handle, and supply of materials and tools be used by electrical trades
E. Maintain a clean and organized work area, tools, and equipment
F. Work under immediate and close supervision according to standard instructions and established procedures
G. Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels
H. All other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
A. Limited ability to read and interpret documents such as safety regulations, operation and maintenance instructions, blueprints and schematic drawings, and procedure manuals
B. Ability to work with tools, such as, power and non-powered hand tools
C. Willing and able to follow instructions and ask clarifying questions
D. Ability to work with equipment, such as, vibrators, pumps, drills and jackhammers, forklifts, skid loaders and power buggies
E. Ability to handle materials that can weigh up to 200Ibs
F. Strong teamwork orientation
G. Positive attitude and professional customer service skills
H. Detail oriented
I. Active listening skills and effective communication including an openness to diverse input and feedback
