Full Consideration Date: 09/30/2024 Job Description: The University of Northern Iowa seeks applications for the position of Department Head of Social Work, starting in August 2025. Responsibilities include managing departmental budget, class schedules, and faculty evaluations; supervises departmental staff; provides leadership and vision; oversees general operations of the department; and serves as BSW Director. This position reports to the Dean of the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences. The Department of Social Work offers well-regarded on-campus BSW and Advanced MSW programs, as well as distance MSW programs. Our department boasts a dynamic faculty and numerous opportunities for innovation. Master's degree in social work from a CSWE-accredited program and a doctorate in social work or a related field required. Record of teaching and scholarly achievements suitable for a tenured appointment at the rank of associate or full professor; academic administrative or supervisory experience; familiarity with student recruitment and retention; and knowledge of CSWE accreditation also required.
