Your Role

Join Atlas Copco Comptec LLC as a Manufacturing Engineering Team Leader where you will lead the engineering team that designs, develops, and implements the manufacturing processes for our engineered to order centrifugal compressors. You will also ensure the quality and safety of our production environment and manage the manufacturing engineering budget. As part of the Manufacturing Engineering team, you will report to the Package Operations Manager and work with production and engineering teams. This is an on-site position located in Voorheesville, NY.

  • You will apply lean manufacturing principles such as value stream mapping, kaizen, and 5S to eliminate water, improve efficiency, and increase customer satisfaction.
  • You will plan, direct, and coordinate the engineering projects related to the design, development, and advancement of the manufacturing processes.
  • You will manage the manufacturing engineering resources and staff which includes hiring, training, mentoring, and performance evaluations of engineering team members.
  • You will represent the manufacturing organization during large capital improvements.
  • You will prepare investment grants for capital improvements and tooling purchases which includes calculating payback and budget management of investments.
  • You will collaborate with other engineering disciplines such as mechanical, electrical, and software engineers to ensure the integration and compatibility of the manufacturing solutions.
  • You will support the development and documentation of design standards, procedures, and engineering tools.
  • You will participate in companywide process improvements, cost reduction, and employee training.
  • You will provide direction for the manufacturing organization.
  • You will ensure adherence to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.

To succeed, you will need

  • You hold a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Industrial or similar engineering discipline.
  • You have at least 10 years of experience working in both an engineering and production environment.
  • You have knowledge of lean manufacturing and agile engineering principles.
  • You have experience using an ERP system and Microsoft Office software.
  • Some international and domestic travel may be required.
