Position Number: 010603 Department: Facilities Management (Adm) Employment Type: Permanent - Full-time Months Per Year: 12 Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Responsible for assessment of Housing conditions and performing proper resolution methods. Assist Advanced level technician in the repair and installation of Housing systems, focusing on the operation and maintenance Chillers, AHUs, Heat Pumps, PTACs, FCUs, and Mini-Split. Responsible for performing routine maintenance to ensure that Housing systems continue to run smoothly, systems operate efficiently, and/or the physical condition of Housing components do not deteriorate. Use electrical test devices to troubleshoot control circuits. Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs as necessary. Record daily activities in an order tracking system (Archibus). Minimum Experience / Education: Required Minimum Qualifications: Graduation from high school or equivalent. Experience in the trade(s) areas related to the position's role may be substituted on a year-for-year basis. University Preferred Qualifications: Graduation from high school or equivalent and two years experience. Experience in the trade(s) areas related to the position's role may be substituted on a year-for-year basis. Preferred Education Skills and Experience: High school diploma or GED equivalency. Ability to demonstrate proficient knowledge in commercial HVAC Systems. Minimum 2 years of work experience in the installation, maintenance, repair of HVAC and refrigeration equipment specializing in chillers/cooling towers. E.P.A. 608 Refrigerant certification preferred. Ability to effectively communicate the English language (reading, writing, interpretation, and comprehension) required. Effective skills in verbal, written, and interpersonal communication. Computer literate. Knowledge and skill with Google Chrome, Microsoft Word, and Excel, and willingness to learn new programs. Ability to effectively work/interact with persons from different backgrounds. Ability to foster and create an atmosphere of teamwork.
