Where You Will Work   

In operation since 2007, Safford operations is a zero-discharge facility and one of the most sustainable mines in the United States. The operation’s commitment to utilizing advanced technologies and sustainable practices strongly emphasizes safety and environmental stewardship. Located in southeastern Arizona, close to more than 4 million acres of national forest, employees and their families can connect with the great outdoors while fishing, rafting, hiking and more. Several educational institutions also are nearby, including a Northern Arizona University satellite campus, Eastern Arizona College, and the Gila Institute for Technology.   



Description



Under limited supervision, plan, organize, manage and evaluate assigned operations, including but not limited to, daily production, product quality, environmental management, safety, or maintenance. Supervise through Senior Supervisors.

 


  • Establish tactical and strategic goals, objectives, policies and procedures in assigned area within the business

  • Direct Supervisors and other staff in daily operations; inspect daily operations and projects in progress and upon completion to ensure quality of work

  • Provide administrative and technical direction to staff; interpret policies and procedures established by regulatory agencies

  • Oversee and recommend the selection of key staff; participate in the selection of staff

  • Work with employees to correct deficiencies; implement disciplinary procedures and recommend terminations; investigate complaints and recommend corrective action as necessary

  • Forecast necessary funds for staffing, materials and supplies, and capital improvement projects

  • Submit budget recommendations and justifications; monitor and control expenditures

  • Develop, plan, and coordinate the work plan for assigned projects and responsibilities, which may include project management, cost estimates and program development; coordinate work with other units and site departments

  • Provide information and resources to site officials and other departments; answer questions and provide information to the public

  • Review Capital Improvement Plans and make recommendations

  • Evaluate infrastructure, facilities and operating systems for needed maintenance and repair

  • Coordinate the activities of consultants and contractors

  • Perform other duties as required





Qualifications



Minimum Qualifications



  • High School diploma or GED and seven (7) years of related operational experience, including supervisory or management experience, OR

  • Bachelor's degree and three (3) years of related operational experience, including supervisory or management experience

  • Additional certifications or licensure appropriate to the job may be required, depending upon the department/site.

  • Skilled in supervising, evaluating, training and motivating employees

  • Ability to plan, prioritize, direct and manage a diverse number of operational areas, projects and activities

  • Skilled in preparing, defending, monitoring and administering budgets

  • Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions

  • Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing


 


Preferred Qualifications

  • Vibration experience or certification

  • Familiar with RBMWare (AMS-CSI) Software

  • Experience in utilizing and maintaining Emerson/CSI online vibration monitoring system

  • Experience with RCFA

  • Certification with ITC in Thermography

  • Experience with Baker motor testing equipment (static and/or dynamic)

  • Experience with FLIR cameras and software

  • Prior Ultrasonic Testing (UT) experience

  • Experience with Ultrasonic data collection utilizing current technology (Olympus)

  • Certification in Phased Array, Conventional UT, or other NDT technologies

  • Experience with NDT technologies (Magnetic-Particle, Dye Penetrant, etc.)

  • Certification and or experience with Eddy Current or Eddy Current Array 





What We Offer You  

The estimated annual pay range for this role is currently $98,000-$137,000. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance. More details will be shared during the hiring process.
