Position Title: Adjunct Instructor 1 Statewide/Online Programs Location: Multiple Locations Department: 40000 - EIO BR Admin Advertised Salary: Salary commensurate with qualifications pursuant to the FSU and FNTFO/AFT Agreement. FLSA: Exempt Temporary/Continuing: Temporary Part-Time/Full-Time: Part-Time Union Group: N/A Term of Position: As Needed At Will/Just Cause: At Will Summary of Position: Adjunct instructors are needed to teach undergraduate courses as part of Ferris State University's Statewide (off-campus) and online programs. The locations include, but are not limited to, Grand Rapids, Traverse City, Lapeer, and online. The list of programs where instructors may be needed is at https://ferris.edu/everywhere. This is a pooled position. One or more applicants may be hired as needed to teach classes on a semester-by-semester basis. This posting is being used for face-to-face and/or online instruction. However, the candidate selected for the position must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment. The anticipated start date of this position is August 2024 at the earliest and January 2025 at the latest. These are estimated dates that may be revised as needed to match part-of-term assignments. Position Type: Faculty - Temporary & Continuing Required Education: For all teaching assignments, a minimum of a bachelor's degree is required, typically in the discipline of instruction. In most cases, a master's degree with at least 18 graduate-level credits in the discipline is also required. The exact education needed will vary based on the course's defined qualifications. Required Work Experience: In general, three years of professional work experience and excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Physical Demands: Office Environment Moving Sitting Driving Additional Education/Experiences to be Considered: Previous teaching experience at college level. Essential Duties/Responsibilities: Teach undergraduate courses as part of Ferris State University's Statewide (off-campus) and online programs. These include programs from the Colleges of Business, Arts-Sciences-Education, Health Professions, and Engineering Technology. Plan, deliver and grade all course content and student work for assigned courses. Meet established course outcomes. Faculty members also have professional responsibilities, which may include, but are not limited to, keeping regular posted office hours (which are scheduled at times convenient for students) and participating in traditional functions that have academic significance (e.g., reporting initial student participation data and submitting final grades on time). For this position, the adjunct instructor will be required to teach off-campus or in an online environment.
