Job Summary: As the Evaluation Specialist with the WCWPDS, you will be joining a group of dedicated professionals who work together to advance high-quality, innovative learning for public child welfare professionals and caregivers across Wisconsin. The Evaluation Specialist, in conjunction with WCWPDS colleagues and stakeholders, develop, coordinate, plan and deliver competency-based training on all aspects of public child welfare work to child welfare professionals. Responsibilities for this position include developing assessments and evaluations to analyze program activities, make recommendations for improvement, and assist in the implementation of recommendations to promote sustainable relationships between the university and program stakeholders. As a member of a work team, the Evaluation Specialist must be able to work both independently and collaboratively. This position will report to the Associate Director of the Wisconsin Child Welfare Professional Development System. Responsibilities: Develops assessments and performs analysis of program activities, makes recommendations for improvement, and assists in the implementation of recommendations to promote sustainable relationships between the university and community. 50% Evaluates existing activities across outreach programs and makes recommendations to outreach program leadership for program enhancement 10% Identifies opportunities for program improvement or new program development across outreach programs 20% Assists program staff in incorporating improvement recommendations into existing outreach programs based on feedback, institutional need, or new developments in pedagogy 10% Assists in creation of outreach plans 10% Designs and implements assessment plans to solicit feedback and gather data from program participants and other stakeholder groups for program evaluation Institutional Statement on Diversity: Diversity is a source of strength, creativity, and innovation for UW-Madison. Qualifications: Preferred qualifications: - Substantial knowledge of ROI/ROE principles and how they are implemented in public sector or child welfare work. - Familiarity with training/learning principles including Kirkpatricks levels of evaluation and how they are demonstrated in public human services. - Experience in Wisconsin Child Welfare services. - Strong verbal presentation and group facilitation skills. - Strong written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated ability to actively listen. - Strong organizational skills and demonstrated ability to produce high-quality work while balancing multiple priorities and managing deadlines. - Demonstrated ability to work effectively in teams in a highly collaborative, inclusive environment, with diverse individuals, groups and stakeholders from across all levels of an organization. - Demonstrated ability to work independently. Desired qualifications: - Demonstrated evaluation skills, with experience developing and implementing evaluation activities related to adult learning. - Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret data, draw conclusions and present those findings to diverse stakeholder groups. - Knowledge of adult learning concepts and methodologies as applied to non-degree seeking professional adult learners. - Experience in the development and delivery of resources for human services professionals. - Proficiency with computer applications, including Microsoft word and internet-based tools. - Ability to obtain or currently holds a valid Wisconsin driver's license and access to reliable transportation for required travel. Work Type: Full or Part Time: 50% - 100% This position may require some work to be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location. Some work may be performed remotely, at an offsite, non-campus work location. Appointment Type, Duration: Ongoing/Renewable Salary: Minimum $48,107 ANNUAL (12 months) Depending on Qualifications The typical starting salary for this position is $48,107 - $68,793 depending on qualifications and experience. Employees in this position can expect to receive benefits such as generous vacation, holidays and paid time off; competitive insurances and saving accounts; and retirement benefits.
