Overview Starting Pay Rate: Per Adjunct Faculty Pay Scale Schedule Information: Days/evenings/weekends depending upon course schedule This posting will be used to obtain a pool of qualified candidates for the above subjects. As teaching needs arise, these applications will be reviewed for possible interviews The number of adjunct instructors hired varies from semester to semester, depending upon the needs of the department. Your application can remain "Under Review by Committee" for 18 months. You may check your status at any time by logging into jobs.harpercollege.edu with your username and password. Job Description: Teach in-person and/or online classes as needed in the Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters. Lead/participate in online (asynchronous) and classroom discussions with students Ability to learn to manage class in multiple learning modalities. Instruct and supervise a diverse population of students in the classroom. Possess a commitment to student engagement, student success, and instructional excellence. Maintain current knowledge of effective teaching methodologies and utilize a variety of instructional delivery methods, classroom media, and educational resources. Grading and providing detailed feedback on all assignments (critical thinking assignments and discussion board) within a timely manner. This includes in-depth feedback specific to critical thinking and writing. Actively respond to student emails and requests within 24 hours. Engage with students through in-person and/or electronic communications. Employs a positive and professional tone in all communications with students, staff, and faculty. Be a scholar in the area of Cyber Security. Education Requirements: Bachelor???s degree or higher with a major in course content area Experience Requirements: Minimum of 3 years of Cyber Security experience Evidence of competence in the area of instruction Maintain expertise appropriate to teaching responsibilities Required Documents: A resume and cover letter are required to complete the application process * Official transcripts required upon hire * Employment is contingent upon Criminal Background Check. * Employment sponsorship is not available.
