Position Title: Adjunct Instructor 1 - Manufacturing Engineering Technology Location: Multiple Locations Department: 38430 - MFG Eng Tech Advertised Salary: Salary commensurate with qualifications pursuant to the FSU and FNTFO/AFT Agreement FLSA: Exempt Temporary/Continuing: Temporary Part-Time/Full-Time: Part-Time Union Group: Ferris Nontenure-Track Faculty Organization (FNTFO) (AFT) Term of Position: As Needed At Will/Just Cause: At Will Summary of Position: The School of Design and Manufacturing invites applications for an adjunct faculty position in the Manufacturing Engineering Technology program. Position requires teaching undergraduate-level lecture and laboratory coursework in a "hands-on" academic environment. This is a pooled position. One or more applicants may be hired as needed to teach classes on a semester-by-semester basis. This posting is used for face to face and/or online instruction. For in-person or hybrid teaching positions, candidates must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment. Courses are to be taught in person on one of Ferris State Universitys campuses. The candidate(s) selected for the position must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment. For courses that are taught 100% online, the candidate(s) selected for the position must reside in Michigan, Illinois (excluding Chicago), Indiana, Kentucky, Minnesota, Ohio, or Wisconsin after acceptance of employment. Position Type: Faculty - Temporary & Continuing Required Education: Qualification by credential: Master's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline OR a master's degree and 18 graduate hours in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial or related discipline. Qualification by Tested Experience: BS Engineering or Engineering Technology and MS Engineering or Engineering Technology and three years hands-on experience in Manufacturing OR BS Engineering or Engineering Technology and MS (any) and six years hands-on experience in Manufacturing OR BS Engineering or Engineering Technology and 8 years hands-on experience in Manufacturing and a subject matter expert in an area relevant to Manufacturing. Required Licenses and Certifications: Physical Demands: Office Environment Bending Carrying Moving Reaching Sitting Twisting Lifting Pulling/Pushing Repetitive movement Standing Additional Education/Experiences to be Considered: Essential Duties/Responsibilities: Preparing and delivering courses utilizing effective methods that insure that all course outcomes are met, and delivering courses in a classroom format. Demonstrates an understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion, especially in working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and community members. Support, promote, and develop University student enrollment and retention initiatives. Faculty members also have professional responsibilities which may include but are not limited to: keeping regular posted office hours (which are scheduled at times convenient for students), and participation in traditional functions which have academic significance (ex. reporting initial student participation data and submitting final grades on time). Faculty may be required to teach off-campus or in an on-line environment. Any other duties assigned within the position classification area.
