Job Summary:

Assists with operating, monitoring, and controls on a variety of industrial plant equipment to process, screen, store, and loadout lime and hydrated lime products.
  • Maintains strong housekeeping standards and a clean work environment in the plant, which includes manual cleanup activities such as shoveling, sweeping, or use of small equipment.
  • Performs basic maintenance and lubrication of plant equipment.
  • Completes visual inspections and basic trouble shooting of process equipment.
  • Operates a variety of mobile equipment.
  • Able to run the hydrate and LLO to back up Plant Operator when needed.
  • Proactively communicates efficiently with plant supervision to alert them of issues needing maintenance attention to avoid downtime.
  • Backfills and assists other team members as needed.
  • Able to work overtime and rotating shifts as required.
  • Complies with all Carmeuse and MSHA required safety regulations and company policies including but not limited to proper use of PPE and LOTOTO (Lockout, Tagout, Tryout).

Job Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Meet requirements for employment and the position.
  • Willing and able to work rotating shifts, overtime when needed including nights and weekends.
  • Able to fill in as needed during vacation, absences, and increased production demands.
  • 2+ years of experience in industrial manufacturing (preferred)
  • Previous experience within a plant environment (dust, dirt, all weather conditions, etc.)
  • Successfully completion of safety, health, and task training
  • Meets standards of performance.
  • Safely replaces or assists other workers as needed.
  • Safely performs other tasks as assigned by supervision or designated lead person.
  • Ability to follow directions and work well in a team.

Overtime may be required as determined by management. Must be available to work weekends and on holidays

Knowledge:

  • Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn industrial production equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic computer skills and usable knowledge of Microsoft Office 365

Skills:

  • LANGUAGE: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
  • MATHEMATICAL: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages.
  • REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Ability to communicate and work collaboratively with other departments and different levels within the organization.
