Warehouse Pick & Pull Clerk - 1st Shift - Military Veterans

Amentum is seeking a Warehouse Pick & Pull Clerk to join our team forGE Renewables in Amarillo, TX.

Position performs picking and pulling of inventory items as directed by material requests and records activities into the Stock Control and Distribution System.

This position will require the ability to obtain a security access badge at our clients location.

Responsibilities:

  • Picks and pulls inventory items as directed by material requests.
  • Records entries into stock control and distribution system.
  • Inputs list of items, alphabetic, numeric, or symbolic in computer-readable format.
  • Compares and verifies data entered with source documents, or re-enters data in verification format on screen to detect errors.
  • Verifies existing data, edits current information, and or proofreads new entries in database for accuracy.
  • May utilize optical scanners
  • Record keeping.
  • Maintains professional and courteous customer relations including, client, vendor, and internal team.
  • Maintains safe work practices as define by Amentum and the client.
  • Performs all work safely and with the utmost concern for the safety of self and other employees.
  • Performs all work in compliance with environmental rules and regulations.
  • Performs scheduled and nonscheduled inventory of existing stock as required.
  • Other duties as assigned by Management or Lead

Minimum Requirements:
  • High School diploma, General Education Degree (GED) or demonstrated equivalent.
  • 2 years of related experience and/or training including a demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Suite; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be able to demonstrate an acceptable rate of speed and accuracy.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Must be computer literate in common software applications and able to write simple correspondence via email.

Additional Information:
  • Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.
  • Must be willing to work overtime when required. May be required to work holidays and weekends.

Physical Requirements:
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feet; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
  • The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Some tasks will require repetitive wrist movement.
  • Requires the ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Requires the ability to regularly climb extension ladders, roof ladder, stepladders, and stairs at least 10 times during shift.
  • Requires the flexibility to bend/stoop, squat repetitive during shift.
  • Requires the ability to regularly kneel repetitive for shift.
  • Requires the ability to move in a 90-degree fashion on a repetitive basis for shift.
  • Requires the ability to stretch/reach on a repetitive basis for shift.
  • Requires the ability to walk extensively throughout the plant during shift.
  • Requires the use of a Company/Client approved utility knife.
  • Some tasks will require repetitive wrist movement.
  • Requires the ability to interact with all clients in a professional and friendly manner despite periods of stress.

Special Requirements:
  • Wear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed.
  • Cope with demands (stressors) that are associated with the job and/or the work environment so that acceptable levels of performance and overall contribution are maintained.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associates Degree from an accredited college or university
  • Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of receipt transaction processing and discrepancy procedures.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of applicable guidelines, methods, policies, procedures, regulations, and techniques required to conduct extensive and exhaustive searches for required information.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of computer codes and terminology used in order to properly process actions.
  • Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of formats, source documents, coding, and program controls in order to accurately input, correct, and/or retrieve from the various automated systems.
  • Ability to demonstrate the ability to operate data transcribing equipment at an acceptable rate of speed and accuracy.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
