Job Type: Full-time Job Description: The Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University invites applications for a full time Assistant Teaching Professor of Law and Public Policy at the rank of assistant teaching professor beginning in August 2025. The assistant teaching professor of Law and Public Policy (non-tenure track) will teach undergraduate and graduate business students, providing them with a strong foundation in legal principles and their application to business practices. The successful candidate will be an effective communicator with a passion for teaching and a strong understanding of the intersection of law and business. Qualifications: Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school. Demonstrated teaching experience at the undergraduate or graduate level, preferably in a business school setting. Strong understanding of business law and its application to the business world. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively with a diverse student population. Commitment to student success and academic excellence. Job Specific Qualifications: Successful candidates will be expected to teach LPP 255 - Introduction to the Legal System and other courses. Responsibilities: Develop and teach in-person undergraduate and graduate courses in business law, corporate law, or other relevant legal areas. Courses typically meet twice a week classes. Hold regular office hours. Provide department and university service as requested such as serving on academic integrity committees. Design and implement effective teaching methods, including lectures, case studies, and experiential learning activities. Assess student learning by grading and providing timely feedback on students assignments, exams, and projects. Advise and mentor students on academic and career-related matters. Stay current on legal developments and incorporate them into teaching.
