Do you have a background in engineering change processes and a passion for advancing aerospace technology? We're seeking an experienced Engineering Services Manager to join our Engine Controls Systems Engineering Services team and drive product improvements in our Power & Controls Business.

As an Engineering Services Manager, you'll be central to implementing the Engineering Change Standard Work across our Collins and Pratt & Whitney product development lifecycle process. You'll work closely with Value Stream Leaders, Integrated Project Engineering teams, and key discipline stakeholders to manage Project Scoping and the Change Request (CR) Business Approval Process. Your role is crucial in overseeing all ECS product lines, ensuring smooth and effective engineering changes execution to customer commit dates.

In this role, you'll lead the Engineering Change Council Chair function within the ECS Business. You’ll define actions, verify standard work requirements, and ensure thorough change substantiation. You'll manage resources, oversee Engineering Change Activity closures, conduct Standard Work audits, and prioritize new requests while guiding a high performing cross-functional team.

What You Will Do


  • Production Support: Manage Change Request scope and execution for active production programs.


  • Document Research: Review Change Controlled Documents, Supplier Specs, and Customer Requirements; validate redlines and impacted items.


  • Standard Work Guidance: Provide support and direction for Standard Work processes in Integrated Product Development teams.


  • Program Coordination: Execute Program Office directions to meet commitments and deliver hardware as planned.


  • Hardware Delivery: Ensure timely hardware delivery to development and production floors, meeting schedule and test requirements.


  • Team Management: Oversee and manage a global engineering team, ensuring effective resource use.


  • Task File Maintenance: Guide daily maintenance of the submitted task file.


  • Process Metrics: Manage and analyze ECS Shared Services process metrics and handle turn backs for operational efficiency.


  • Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of improvement by engaging employees and enhancing business processes.


  • Lean Tools: Implement lean tools and facilitate training to boost efficiency and support business goals.


  • Project Oversight: Manage Kaizens, Green Belt/Black Belt projects, Gemba walks, and RTPR/RRCA.


  • CORE Training: Support CORE training and development by assisting in events and tracking progress with metrics.

Qualifications You Must Have 


  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience

Qualifications We Prefer


  • Proven track record of leading teams and managing process metrics within a shared services environment, effectively handling turn backs.


  • Demonstrated success in driving a culture of continuous improvement, engaging employees to enhance business performance.


  • Skilled in implementing lean tools and facilitating training to optimize processes and improve efficiency.


  • Experience in guiding teams through critical action lists, including Kaizens, Green Belt/Black Belt projects, Gemba walks, and RTPR/RRCA.


  • Strong background in supporting training and development programs, with experience in organizing training events and generating relevant metrics to measure progress.


  • Strong foundation in Commercial and Military engine Bills of Material.


  • Proficiency in Siemens PLM, Teamcenter, NX


  • Understanding of Model Based Design and GD&T Terminology

The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
