Amentum, a global leader in critical mission support, engineering, technology, and national security solutions, is seeking a Structures General Maintenance Worker (GMW) at Fort Carson, Colorado. The hourly pay will be $25.49, plus an additional $7.87-$10.34 towards Health and Welfare benefits.
PURPOSE AND SCOPE:
The General Maintenance Worker performs general maintenance, structural repairs and supports trade laborers with daily tasks. Practical skills and knowledge in trades such as carpentry, painting, glazing, roofing, welding/fabricating, overhead doors, and signage. Work involves a variety of the following duties: repairing or replacing sheetrock, flooring, ceilings, windows, doors and hardware. Assisting trade laborers with set up, layout, ground guiding, clean up and preventive maintenance on a variety of building-maintenance work orders. Prospective employee needs to be self-motivated, hardworking and eager to learn.
JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Requires practical skill and knowledge in several trade fields. Accomplishes installation, maintenance, or repair of general structural construction, framing, building and installation of cabinets, stairs or trim work. Installation and repair of wallcoverings such as drywall, paneling, vinyl Celotex, Masonite sheeting, veneer, curtain/drapes, rubber, and wood cove base. Coordinates work from blueprints, drawings, layouts, or other specifications; working standard computations relating to various requirements; and using a variety of hand tools and measuring instruments. Assists trade laborers with daily duties.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization. Note: US citizenship is required for facility credentials/authorization at this work location.
- Must have a high school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED).
- Must be able to successfully complete a drug/alcohol test and a criminal record check.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance, including successfully completing a thorough background investigation.
- Must be able to perform all the essential duties of the position satisfactorily.
