Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Sets up operates various CNC controlled and conventional mills and latches. Modifies cutting programs to account for problems encountered during operations and save modified programs. Inserts control instructions into machines to produce acceptable components.
  • Calculates machine speed, feeds ratios and size of cut to be made.
  • Sets up and operates CNC and conventional machine tools such as, vertical and horizontal boring mills, bench, plain or universal milling machines, shapers, planers, internal and external grinders, thread grinders, radial drills and uses a variety of auxiliary machine attachments such as rotary tables dividing heads, taper attachments, magnetic chucks, vertical milling heads, tapping attachments, and rotary vises.
  • Lays out work from sketches, work orders and models of parts to be made or other specifications.
  • Performs new job set ups on various types of equipment involving accurate alignment to maintain specified tolerances.
  • Maintains dimensional accuracy during these processes with precision measuring instruments such as, caliper, micrometers, surface gauges, height gauges, dial indicators, and comparators.
  • Uses shop mathematics and formulas in computing dimensions and planning work.
  • Ensures strict compliance to safety practices and support the Safety Policies and Procedures.
  • Instills a safety-first mentality within respective work areas and a culture that achieves low accident rates and minimal lost-time injuries.
  • Adheres to ISO Policies, Procedures, and Work Instructions in support of Quality Management System.
  • Performs all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent

Experience:
  • Requires 5 years experience as CNC Machinist in a production environment utilizing various CNC controlled and manual machines techniques.
  • Experience in a production machine shop environment preferred.

Specialized Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Ability to use relevant machines, instruments and tools
  • Possess advanced oral and written communications skills in English.
  • Able to accept responsibility, follow orders precisely, and determine when consultation is required.
  • Must have the English language speaking ability to satisfy routine social demands and limited work requirements.
  • Must be able to read simple prose in a form equivalent to typescript or printing on subjects within a familiar context.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Trade School Preferred
  • International driver's license prior to deployment preferred.

Certification, License & Clearance:
  • Valid US Driver's license is required.
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a CAC.
  • Must be able to pass General Trade Skill PQS within 30 days of hire.
  • US Citizenship is required.

Facility credentials/authorization required:

Must be able to obtain and maintain facility and credential /authorization:

Note- US Citizenship is required for facility credential/authorization at this work location.

Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:
  • Ability to perform job duties efficiently and effectively
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs
  • Must be able to work in extreme environmental conditions including dust and high temperatures
  • Must be able to endure long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions.
  • When performing work, responsible for adhering to environmental, safety, and health standards related to the activity, including the wearing of all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
