Continuing Education Coordinator | Iowa Western - Military Veterans

The CE Coordinator is responsible for managing the development, assessment, implementation, marketing, and evaluation of new and on-going open enrollment courses, programs, and activities assigned to the Continuing Education Department. Coordinate and market existing community education courses, programs, and partnerships. Develop, implement, market, and evaluate new community education classes, programs, events, and partnerships. Recruit and terminate part-time instructors as needed; supervise the orientation, induction, staff development, and evaluations of part-time instructors. Conduct needs assessments with stakeholders, employers, students, and other customers through in person meetings, and electronic communication. Provide input and monitor program budgets. Communicates and cooperates with community organizations for times, lengths, and locations of classes. Evaluates the effectiveness and appropriateness of community education offerings and implements and/or recommends changes or improvements. Collaborates with Contract Training staff to ensure needs are met. Represents Iowa Western Community College at local and state committees and initiatives. Participates in community activities and events to promote awareness of the College's community education programs. Supervises, recruits, and evaluates part-time staff involved in the coordination and development of community education offerings. Updates curricular guides, syllabi, and competencies to meet requirements. Assists instructors with selection and customization of curricula and materials Collaborates with Operations staff in the decision-making process regarding the cancellation of classes or events. Collaborates with college staff and company personal to develop appropriate company training plans funded through available Grants Serves on college committees and participates in Business and Community Education team meetings. Associate degree or higher is required. Strong research and project management skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to articulate in both small and large group settings and with diverse groups of people including co-workers, students, business contacts and at various levels from front-line to administration Strong computational ability to include mathematic calculations and analyzing statistical data Strong organizational skills including the ability to multi-task, to meet deadlines, to maintain and access paper and electronic files, to produce error-free final products, and to manage time and output Excellent customer service skills required Proficient use of Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Ability to read, write and speak English fluently Enthusiastic and dedicated to the challenges of helping other people Ability to function collaboratively as part of a fast-paced, customer oriented team Professional in communications, appearance, relationships, and responsiveness Positive attitude Self-starter with the ability to perform with little or no direct supervision Regular, prompt & reliable attendance Ability to pass a background check, have a valid U.S. driver's license and good driving record.
