Job Type: Support Staff - Union Bargaining Unit: SSA Regular/Temporary: Regular End Date if Temporary: Hours Per Week: 35 Standard Work Schedule: Building: Salary Range: $53,394.17 - $53,394.17 The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. Position Summary We are seeking a Technician B to assist with a project using human immune cells to study cell biology in the lab of Emily Mace, PhD. The successful applicant will work as part of a team of graduate students and postdoctoral researchers. Their responsibilities will include assisting with general lab duties and performing independent experiments. This will be a one-year position with the possibility of renewal based on funding. Cell culture of mammalian cell lines. Prepares, performs, and analyzes confocal microscopy experiments. Performs basic biochemistry experiments including Western blots, immunoprecipitations, and cell fractionations. Performs and analyzes flow cytometry experiments and cell sorting. Performs related duties & responsibilities as assigned/requested. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor???s degree in chemistry, biology or physics or a completed animal husbandry program or equivalent in education, training and experience. Preferred Qualifications One year of related experience preferred. Experience with light microscopy data acquisition and image analysis. Experience with tissue culture. Knowledge of various related laboratory procedures and techniques preferred. Other Requirements This will be a one-year position with the possibility of renewal based on funding.
