Statewide Oregon Math Project Manager | Eastern Oregon University - Military Veterans

The Greater Oregon STEM Hub (GO STEM) is a regional cross-sector collaborative working to improve and guide integrated science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education in Eastern Oregon communities. GO STEM provides engaging learning experiences that promote and inspire educational and personal success among the educators and students it serves. It is one of thirteen STEM Hubs that serve the state of Oregon to provide STEM/STEAM and Career Connected Learning opportunities to PreK-20 students, community members, and across the education spectrum of the state. This collaborative, known as the Oregon STEM Hub Network, is funded by the Oregon Department of Education and various other funding entities and works closely with local, regional, and statewide partner organizations, educational entities, and industry to achieve the goals of the network. The Statewide Oregon Math Project Manager, housed at the Greater Oregon STEM Hub, designs, manages, and implements a STEM Education and NGSS lens to conduct and lead collaboration across the programmatic efforts of the thirteen STEM Hubs of Oregon for the Oregon Math Project. They lead, design, and implement virtual and in-person professional development efforts for K-12 Oregon educators, create and promote outreach materials, and engage with key partners across the state, the STEM Hub Network, and the Oregon Department of Education. This position will manage the virtual collaboration of the project, including facilitation of meetings/convenings, data collection, management, and project activities, and act as the point person for reporting to and working with the Oregon Department of Education staff related to the Oregon Math Project. They are skilled in a range of effective equity-based educational practices, curriculum development and delivery, professional development and delivery, other event and program delivery, and ensuring that their work aligns to the goals and outcomes of the Oregon Math Project. This position also provides expertise in Oregon and national K-12 math standards, practices, and integration for all program efforts. This position exists to dismantle systemic inequities in math instruction with a focus on equitable teaching practices to ensure success for all students, especially students of color, emergent bilingual students, and students from families of low income, all of whom have been historically underserved in mathematics education. This position is funded by the Oregon Department of Education through June 30, 2025, and continued funding is expected (but not guaranteed) to continue for the 2025-27 biennium with the potential for prolonged funding given program success.
