Cybersecurity Engineer - Military Veterans

Decision Technologies seeks a qualified Cybersecurity Engineer (Mid-Level) to join our on-site team in San Diego, CA, or Arlington, VA. Some hybrid work arrangements may be possible.

Position Description:

This is an exciting opportunity to support Naval Information Warfare Systems Command (NAVWAR) and Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Pacific working on digital transformation of the Naval Operational Architecture, model-based systems engineering of critical Naval cross-domain mission threads, and cybersecurity engineering of next generation Naval information systems and tactical networks. Decision Technologies seeks a motivated individual with broad skillsets and experiences who can demonstrate a history of achievement in engineering services for the Navy and/or larger DoD.

MUST HAVE A SECRET CLEARANCE

Responsibilities and Duties:


  • Perform Cybersecurity risk assessments on deployed Navy systems, system functions and interconnection

  • Analyze and develop mitigation plans, corrective actions, and contingencies for risks identified during Cyber Risk Assessments and Penetration Testing

  • Track operational changes to the DoD and DON cybersecurity initiatives and provide implementation guidance and identify policies affecting cost, schedule and performance criteria to support Navy cybersecurity goals.

  • Evaluate cybersecurity requirements implementation across the acquisition lifecycle to make recommendations on cybersecurity risks and mitigations

  • Develop cybersecurity metrics to include data collection, monitoring, analysis, and reporting and evaluate independent cybersecurity technical assessments for cyber risk, software assurance, penetration testing, and other related cybersecurity testing

  • Evaluate cybersecurity technical assessments and develop technical and process efficiencies throughout all Risk Management Framework (RMF) steps and develop implementation guidance for RMF execution for efforts throughout system development.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as engineering or mathematics (e.g. Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or Information Systems)

  • 3 years of professional experience performing Model-Based Systems Engineering

Desired Qualifications:

  • Information Assurance Management (IAM) or Information Assurance Technical (IAT) or Information Assurance System Architect and Engineer (IASAE) Level I (position-based) per DoD 8570.1M

  • Experience with applying Cybersecurity concepts in a professional or academic setting.

  • Experience with applying modern software development methodologies (e.g. agile, DEVOPS/DEVSECOPS) in a professional or academic setting.

  • Familiarity and experience working with Navy radars, electro-optical and infrared sensors, guns, missiles, electronic warfare, and other warfare systems.

Travel Requirements:

  • 25% to various Naval activity centers, including San Diego, CA; Washington, DC; Norfolk, VA; Charleston, SC; Denver, CO; and Hawaii.

Salary Range
$100,000 to $140,000
