Grants Accounting Assistant | Davidson College - Military Veterans

Reporting to the Assistant Director / Post-Award Manager in the Office of Sponsored Programs, the grant accountant is responsible for executing financial transactions associated with all internally and externally funded grants and contracts. This position plays an integral role in post-award administration in providing the primary accounting functions for grant funds to ensure proper award setup, expenditure review and approval, timely invoicing for expenses incurred, compliance with sponsor regulations, and assisting with financial reporting. Possibility for hybrid work schedule. Primary Responsibilities: Assist with research / grant administration from award set-up through close-out. Process / Execute accounting transactions for all grant-funded accounts, including federal and other external awards, institutional initiative grants, internal faculty and student grants, and internal special funds. Monitor transactions for allowability and ensure compliance with agency and institutional policies and guidelines. Process and approve invoices and reimbursements. Approve P-card transactions. Prepare journal entries as needed Process grant-funded student payments. Process faculty supplemental pay and summer salary Maintain proper records and documentation for auditors Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in relevant field. 1-3 years of accounting experience required. Research administration experience preferred. Higher Education experience preferred. Ability to work independently. Effective oral and written communication skills. Demonstrate exceptional organizational skills, accuracy and attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines. A strong commitment to customer service and teamwork.
