Join our Global Real Estate and Facilities Engineering and Technology (E&T) team in Mesa, Arizona, and become a Mid-Level Facilities Electrical Engineer to support the Southwest Region.



You will play a vital role in ensuring compliance with customer requirements, building codes, and regulations. Your expertise in construction principles, practices, and materials will guarantee the safety and stability of our infrastructure systems.



You will also have the exciting opportunity to contribute to asset management. By conducting studies, analyzing current conditions, and collaborating with stakeholders, you will provide valuable recommendations for capital improvements. As a Mid-Level Facilities Electrical Engineer, you will develop technical design statements of work, review final designs, and provide rough cost estimates for various projects. Your meticulous attention to detail and commitment to safety will ensure that our buildings, equipment installations, utility systems, and grounds meet the highest standards.

Our Ideal Candidate will:



  • Have design experience in the electrical engineering field, specifically in industrial, military, and commercial power, lighting, and control systems


  • Possess a strong knowledge of electrical upgrade and project management for power distribution and lighting systems, including conducting studies such as short circuit, load flow, voltage drop, protective device coordination, and arc flash analysis


  • Provide technical expertise and advice on current system capacities and capabilities, as well as the impact of planned modifications and the development of backup operational plans for system outages or failures


  • Be able to recommend system upgrades and replacements, considering factors such as cost, design, savings, and efficiencies


  • Take responsibility for the design, operation, and maintenance of on-site generators, UPS systems, Energy Management systems, fire alarm systems, public address systems, and security systems




Position Responsibilities:



  • Lead project teams in developing technical designs, final designs, and cost estimates for structural projects, ensuring safety and stability


  • Review structural and seismic designs for compliance with customer requirements, building codes, and regulations


  • Oversee drawing archives/libraries, identify errors, and document construction changes to meet regulatory requirements


  • Coordinate production or procurement of design documents, adhering to project parameters


  • Interpret and analyze regulations to ensure project compliance


  • Forecast, monitor, and report site utilizes consumption


  • Maintain infrastructure systems for reliable and efficient utility operations


  • Develop and implement conservation projects and employee awareness programs


  • Prepare contingency plans for utilities interruptions


  • Coordinate conservation programs across the enterprise


  • Compile and report company utility consumption


  • Establish enterprise policies, procedures, and guidelines


  • Facilitate enterprise-wide communications on utility issues




This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.



This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required.  “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee. 


                                                                                                                                         


Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):



  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in accredited course of study in electrical engineering


  • 5+ years of experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications (e.g., blueprint/schematic reading, specification, change, design)


  • 5+ experience using AutoCAD, or similar Computer Aid Design package




Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):



  • 5+ years of experience with building and safety codes


  • 5+ years of experience leading cross-functional engineering teams


  • 5+ years of experience with Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project


  • 5+ years of experience with Revit


  • Experience in an engineering, facilities and/or maintenance role in a manufacturing environment


  • 5+ years of experience working on facilities medium and high voltage electrical systems


  • 5+ years of experience designing building lighting and power calculations by applying National Electrical Code (NEC) to design


  • 5+ years of experience working on building fire alarm, UPs, and lighting controls


  • 5+ years of experience with conservation programs, Title 24




Typical Education/Experience: 


Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. 



Summary pay range: $96,050 – $129,950
