Job Overview

The Director, Consumables Sales ensures that the consumable business meets or exceeds sales and profitability objectives. The position formulates sales strategies for markets within the US in order to attain revenue goals set by Getinge. The position works with the Consumables Sales Territory Managers to identify and evaluate market opportunities and sales potential and to establish and achieve annual sales objectives.

Job Responsibilities and Essential Duties

  • Recruit, coach and develop organizational talent.
  • Provide direction and guidance to the team; evaluates performance and assists in career development planning
  • Demonstrate effective change leadership and keeps the organization's vision and values at the forefront of decision making and action
  • Create an entrepreneurial environment and fosters a diverse workplace that enables all participants to contribute to their full potential in pursuit of organizational objectives.
  • Monitor and ensures compliance with company policies and procedures (e.g. compliance with FDA, BSI, EEO regulations, etc.).
  • Develop and articulate a strategic vision for areas of responsibility. Lead assigned department by developing, communicating, and building consensus for goals and programs that support division, business unit and company objectives.
  • Build strategic partnerships to further departmental and organizational objectives. Interacts internally and externally with executive level management, marketing team, service team, human resources, cross divisional directors, outside regulatory agencies, customers (key IDN's), vendors and/or suppliers
  • Analyze and report forecasts of sales and ensures accurate reporting of the Consumable Product Specialists.
  • Investigate and solve problems that impact work processes and personnel within or across units or departments.
  • Develop, communicate, and build consensus for operating goals that are in alignment with the division. Provide leadership to assigned staff and supervisors by communicating and providing guidance towards achieving department objectives.
  • Using Getinge Competency Model to achieve optimal levels of personal performance and accomplishment, provide feedback and coaching to reward effectiveness and address areas of misalignment.
  • Manage Commercial Excellence sales selling cycle and methodology, analyze, and evaluate the effectiveness of sales, methods, costs, and results.
  • Define and drive plans to maximize customer satisfaction and profitability by fostering an effective relationship between all operational groups within Getinge.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Advanced degree preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in a national director role
  • Preferred experience in sales management selling consumable or other related equipment in the medical device industry.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Demonstrated record of success or achievement in sales positions.
  • Able of work under consultative direction toward predetermined long-range goals and objectives, where assignments are often self-initiated.
  • Demonstrate charisma as well as leadership style to motivate teams in a field sales organization.
  • Proven skills making and executing operational decisions with a strategic perspective.
  • Capable of utilizing technical/professional knowledge and skills to establish, interpret and execute company policies in a major segment of the company.
  • Track record of success in identifying and implementing "Best In Class" management processes as it relates to the development of sales organization
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Officeskills in Excel, Word and Outlook and familiarity with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in strategic planning and execution. Knowledge of contracting, negotiating, and change management.

Supervision/Management of Others
  • Responsible for the development and management of the Consumable Territory Managers in consumable sales for the Infection Control business.

Internal and External Contacts/Relationships
  • Senior management
  • Field Sales and Service teams
  • Internal department such as Finance, Sales Compensation, Sales Reporting, Marketing, Service and Human Resources
  • Physicians, nurses, SPD managers, purchasing and other hospital and university personnel

Environmental/Safety/Physical Work Conditions
  • Ensures environmental consciousness and safe practices are exhibited in decisions
  • Use of computer and telephone equipment and other related office accessories/devices to complete assignments
  • May work extended hours during peak business cycles
  • The position requires travel of approximately 25-50%

Quality Requirements

Build Quality into all aspects of their work by maintaining compliance to all quality requirements. Ensure compliance to all FDA and Worldwide Quality & Compliance regulations (As applicable to the job function). Must have the education and experience to understand and comply with U.S. and Worldwide medical device regulations (As applicable to your job function). Attend all required Quality & Compliance training at the specified interval. Adopt the "Beyond Compliance Quality Culture" in the work environment; always meet and exceed requirements.

The salary range for this position is a minimum of $175k-225k on the base, with a variable commission target ranging from $75k-105k+
