We are looking for a highly motivated, organized individual with a bachelor's or master's degree in health sciences (physical therapy, psychology, biomedical engineering, neuroscience, or related field) to work on an exciting project funded by NIH in the Sensorimotor Plasticity Lab with Professor Shahab Vahdat in the Department of Bioengineering at the University of California Riverside. This is a full-time position. The person in this position must have a strong interest in research and working with stroke patients. Their responsibilities include recruitment and collection of MRI, electrophysiological, and biomechanics data from stroke participants, as well as performing initial data processing/checking using MATLAB and neuroimaging software. They will be responsible for working with our clinicians to identify participants, manuscript preparation and maintaining our research protocols up to date. Additionally, they will help the PI and graduate students in the laboratory in conducting daily research activities. The minimum requirements are a BS or equivalent in physical therapy, biomedical engineering, psychology, neuroscience, biological sciences, or related fields, and a commitment to this full-time position for two years. The preferred qualifications are prior experience working with patients and performing clinical assessments, have knowledge of biomechanics, EMG recordings, and MRI scanning and knowledge of MATLAB and statistical analysis.
