As an active performer, this individual will be responsible for teaching and successfully recruiting piano performance majors, with additional teaching, advising, and service responsibilities assigned based on candidate expertise and departmental needs.   The successful applicant will be an active performer who is experienced in classical and contemporary art music. This individual will be a skilled soloist and chamber musician and will perform with the faculty contemporary ensemble Ruckus as well as in other faculty chamber music performances. Demonstrated excellence in teaching piano is required. We welcome candidates who may have expertise in musics of other cultural traditions that reflect the candidate’s areas of interest and abilities.   A secondary research area is not required, but may include composition, conducting, or music history or theory. Doctorate preferred, or M.M. with equivalent performance experience required; successful teaching of undergraduate level students or equivalent graduate training is desired.
