Senior Lead Painter (4x10 Work Schedule Mon- Thurs) - Military Veterans

You will be a Aircraft Painter Lead, Paint Technician for the Lockheed Martin Greenville Paint Operations Team. Our team is responsible for Production and Sustainment paint/coating operations on F-16s and other military aircraft prior to delivery to our customers.

What You Will Be Doing

As the Aircraft Painter Lead , you will be responsible for leading a team in safely accomplishing daily work assignments, delivering high-quality products on schedule and within budget. This role will provide first-line oversight for F-16 Paint Production, leading and training crews in the day-to-day hands-on requirements to ensure completion of assignments in accordance with all processes, policies, and applicable technical data. The successful candidate will ensure the accuracy of aircraft documentation, collaborate with Quality to ensure the product meets technical data standards, and facilitate the approval process with QA. Additionally, they will promote a culture that values and embraces Foreign Object Damage prevention.

The candidate will be required to:
• Lead various areas of the painting operation, including overseeing preparation, application, and drying processes for multiple aircraft, ensuring timelines are met and quality standards are maintained.
• Manage detailed documentation processes, including the creation and maintenance of job records as directed by technical data, compliance forms, and quality assurance documents, ensuring full traceability of paint materials and techniques used independently.
• Collaborate closely with QA, DCMA, Auditors, and Engineering to resolve issues and discrepancies in technical data, actively seeking input and feedback to ensure products meet or exceed specifications.
• Proficiently apply multiple layers of paint, control the thickness and evenness of each coat, and manage intermediate drying times and techniques independently.
• Manage tasks independently, ensuring compliance with all technical specifications and safety standards, efficiently completing assignments while accurately documenting the processes and outcomes.
• Independently manage paint supply and schedules effectively, ensuring no disruptions in project timelines and optimizing resource usage.

Basic Qualifications:
• 8 years of experience in aircraft paint applications or high gloss automotive painting

• Experience with leading multiple teams and/or large projects.

• Experience with training/mentoring junior painters.

• Experience with interpreting complex paint drawings and translating them into precise masking and painting actions, handling color designs including graphics effectively, and managing different aircraft configurations.
Desired Skills:
• Ability to perform complex applications involving structural components.

• Ability to apply advanced techniques in LO and RAM coatings.

• Proficient in utilizing advanced job software tools for tasks such as digital masking, pattern design, and virtual paint simulations.

• Demonstrates leadership in complex preparation projects, optimizing processes and introducing innovative techniques to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

• Proficient in advanced techniques for paint mixing, viscosity adjustments, and specialized finish applications, with expertise in identifying materials issues such as metallic or pearlescent finishes.

• Proficient in applying complex markings with precision.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
