Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is hiring Propulsion Engineers (Associate and Mid-Level) to perform propulsion system support and analysis on the T-7 Red Hawk program in the Berkeley, MO!  The statement of work will include development, integration, and qualification projects.



Our Flight Systems Engineering Capability also impacts areas that include Fighter Aircraft, Unmanned Aircraft, and Missiles/Weapons Systems. You can expect to apply your skills in air breathing propulsion design, analysis and testing in Flight disciplines to meet our customers' requirements.

Position Responsibilities:



  • Participate in various testing, analysis, modeling and simulation tools to estimate or calculate system performance.

  • Support definition and performance of certification tests for propulsion sub-systems and components.

  • Assist with ground and flight test planning. Participate in conduct of ground and flight test. 

  • Contribute to definition of requirements for propulsion systems, auxiliary power systems and vehicle fuel and tank systems.

  • Coordination and control of the functional and physical interfaces between the propulsion system and the vehicle.

  • Support development of specifications and architectural and configuration concepts for associated vehicle systems to meet customer and regulatory requirements.

  • Assist with design of propulsion sub-systems and components to meet all vehicle design and performance criteria.

  • Support fielded systems to assure continued reliability and airworthiness.

  • Assist with development of concepts for future propulsion systems to meet anticipated requirements.



Up to 10% - 25% domestic travel is required.



This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.



This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.


  • An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required


Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):



  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), mathematics, data science, or computer science.

  • 2+ years of experience within relevant industry and Bachelor’s degree OR a Master’s degree with relevant experience within internships, clubs, or technical education



Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):



  • 3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Active Secret Clearance

  • Flight or ground test experience

  • Experience with jet engines and/or air breathing propulsion operation fundamentals

  • Propulsion analysis, integration design, system installation and support experience

  • Component and hardware integration

  • Vendor management experience

  • Qualification and Certification experience



Typical Education/Experience:



Associate (Level 2):


Typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.



Mid-Level (Level 3):


Typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.



Relocation: 


This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.  



Summary pay range:


Associate: 76,500 - 103,500


Mid-level: 93,500 - 126,500
