Our Parsons San Diego office is now hiring for an experienced Civil Water/Wastewater Design Engineer with solid experience and background in municipal water/wastewater infrastructure design to join our water/wastewater group in the San Diego area. This position will be a key design engineering contributor role, supporting planning, design, and engineering phases and working with other design engineers for municipal and industrial clients and permitting agencies on municipal water/wastewater infrastructure projects.
The primary work location for this position will be at Parsons San Diego office. The ideal candidate will have 5 years or more experience with municipal water and wastewater infrastructure design, and be seeking an opportunity to work on multiple challenging projects and demonstrate a solid base of technical knowledge and skills to support various water/wastewater projects. We offer hybrid remote working ( meaning allowed to work from home 2 days per week) for this role.
Responsibilities:
Perform design on a range of water/wastewater infrastructure projects, including preparation of planning studies, field conditions assessments, preliminary design, final design, and office and field services during construction.
Design projects may include site grading or development, water conveyance and distribution, pump and lift stations, water sewer systems, municipal wastewater treatment systems. Civil engineering design tasks such as hydraulic calculations, interpret site/soil conditions, prepare project documents, perform site visits as needed.
Assist senior design engineers on large, complex projects, including task management.
Bring creativity in predesign and design for value added solutions
Participate in communication and strong relationship with regulatory agencies to support project permitting.
Communicate and work directly with clients, when needed.
Assist Senior Engineers in various project design work.
Qualifications:
4-year Bachelor's degree in at an accredited university in Civil Engineering or a related field, and 5-8 years or more of related work experience with municipal water and wastewater engineering projects
Active PE ( professional engineer) registration is required for this role, or ability to obtain one.
Proficiency with Microstation and/or AutoCAD is essential.
