Ohio Wesleyan University is a selective, private, undergraduate liberal arts, residential institution founded in 1842 and located just 20 miles north of Columbus, is seeking candidates for the position of  Associate Director of Admission.  This is a salaried, full time, position with benefits. 

This position will be based in Connecticut or New York (NYC Metro) and will require travel in the New England, New York areas with travel to campus in Ohio. 

About you:

You are a seasoned admission professional with 3-5 years of experience, who has a passion for building relationships and helping students and their families through the college search process. You might currently be an Assistant Director. Ideally, you have worked with Slate and know how to utilize it to track and analyze data for use in decision-making.  You are a self-starter who demonstrates good initiative and can work independently and productively in a remote position. You are comfortable with presenting to audiences of all sizes, both in-person and virtually.  And you believe in the benefits of a college education, specifically one attained at a small, private liberal-arts university, and are eager to help guide others in realizing this opportunity.

Job Summary:

The Office of Admission at Ohio Wesleyan University (OWU) invites applications for  Associate Director of Admission  to share responsibility for active recruitment and enrollment of a nationwide pool of students, and serve as a member of the enrollment leadership team, helping to establish data-driven recruitment strategies related to first-year students. The successful candidate will possess strong communication, management and organizational skills and be willing to travel throughout the year. Weekend and evening work will be required.  

  Duties and Responsibilities: 

To thrive in this role you must foster, build and maintain relationships with students and their families and school and independent counselors, and alumni in an assigned territory through building relationships as well as in-person and virtual interactions at high schools, college day/night programs and college fairs, evening and day receptions, etc. 

As an Associate Director, you will educate others about the value of higher education and the benefits of Ohio Wesleyan by presenting in-person and virtual presentations, conducting one-on-one interviews and engaging in direct communication

As an Associate Director, you will participate in in-person and virtual on- and off-campus recruitment events (Open House events, admitted student receptions, etc.)

To thrive in this role, you must review and evaluate applications for admission in a timely manner.

  Factors Contributing to Success: 

Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution with 3-5 years of admission or related experience.  A Master’s Degree is strongly preferred.  Because of the travel requirement, a valid driver’s license is also required. 

Technical proficiencies in Google products, video conferencing software and higher education CRM’s (preferably Slate) are highly desired.
