DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a talented Electrician - Level II to join our team specializing in Manufacturing for our Cummins Inc. facility in Columbus, IN.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Technical Excellence : As you perform electrical maintenance and support tasks, focus on precision and quality. Your workmanship contributes to equipment reliability and overall productivity.

- Quality Advocate : Maintain high standards. Provide feedback on preventive maintenance, adhere to process documentation, and raise any issues affecting cost or quality. Regular inspections ensure excellence.
- Reliable Delivery : Execute electrical repairs efficiently. Document preventive, emergency, and corrective maintenance activities. Align with codes and standards to ensure safe operation of equipment.
- Problem Solver : Identify manufacturing constraints and propose solutions. Schedule maintenance around production needs, minimizing downtime. Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
- Team Player : Effective communication with your team and support groups is crucial. Engage in training and personal development. Collaborate with Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) teams to enhance quality, safety, and processes.

RESPONSIBILITIES
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
- Effective Communication : Develop and deliver clear, multi-mode communications tailored to different audiences. Understand their unique needs and convey information effectively.

- Controls Safety : Recognize hazards related to controls (Electrical, Hydraulic, Pneumatic) in a manufacturing environment. Incorporate safe practices and procedures into your daily work to reduce injuries and create a secure machine environment.
- Machine Programming : Design and implement solutions to enhance machine usage and overall operation on the factory floor.
- Manufacturing Knowledge : Demonstrate expertise in manufacturing processes. Implement changes effectively, aligning with the function’s needs and contributing to continuous improvement.
Education/Experience
High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.
This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Requires some work experience or intermediate level knowledge obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience.
QUALIFICATIONS
Additional Information
- Maintenance technicians are responsible for the assembly, installation, maintenance, testing and fault diagnosis, repair and disassembly of a wide range of electrical plant and associated components.
- Typical equipment includes robotic and automation cells that include (Single phase/three phase/Low Voltage, switch panels, transformers, motors, lighting systems, and circuit protection devices such as (Fuses, MCBs, Relays, VFDs, Thermal Overloads).
- Electrical maintenance technicians are expected to be able to diagnose the causes of electrical or mechanical malfunctions or failures of operational equipment in a prompt and efficient manner.
- Ability to interpret maintenance specifications, drawings and wiring diagrams desired
- Support mechanical and fabrication projects that may not be in the normal standard electrical maintenance process.
- Proficiency with multi-meter vital.
- Participation in improvement projects is expected.
- Ability to identify risks as well as effectively handle them.
- Arc Flash knowledge of NFPA 70E desired.
- Support PM Maintenance System.
