Classification Title : Deputy Title IX Coordinator Department: Institutional Integrity and Access Full-Time/Part-Time: Full-Time Months per Year: 12 Months Position Summary : The Deputy Title IX Coordinator is responsible for supporting the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Institutional Integrity and Access & Title IX Coordinator with coordination and managing the programmatic implementation and operation of the day-to-day responsibilities associated with UNC Asheville's equity and nondiscrimination program and compliance obligations under Title IX, Title VI, Title VII , ADA /Section 504, VAWA , the Clery Act, and other related federal and state laws. The Deputy Title IX Coordinator is responsible for assisting with management and implementation of all Title IX compliance strategies, trainings, and programs. This role will act as an impartial and unbiased factfinder to conduct and manage investigations into allegations of discrimination, harassment, sexual misconduct, and related retaliation. While compliance is an essential responsibility of the Office for Institutional Integrity and Access, the Deputy Title IX Coordinator will be instrumental in supporting the office's efforts to foster a safe, respectful, inclusive, and responsive campus culture. To ensure that the office achieves this aim, it is essential that the Deputy TIX Coordinator build and maintain positive rapport with all campus constituencies, including students, faculty, staff, and administrators, as well as community partners. The position also serves as the primary point of contact for communications, such as responding to inquiries and issues from any internal or external sources including campus administrators, students, faculty, staff, and visitors. Minimum Education/Experience/Skill : Master's degree in a related field. May also consider a bachelor's degree and significant related experience. Two to three years of progressively responsible work experience as a sexual violence prevention and intervention specialist or supporting the functions of a Title IX or Civil Rights office, and a minimum of two years with direct experience working on Title IX, Clery, VAWA , and other related federal and state statues, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in conducting investigations Preferred Education/Experience/Skill : Two to three years of work experience in higher education Prior experience as a Title IX or civil rights investigator Prior experience in case and records database, such as Maxient is a plus.
