Maintenance Mechanic - Military Veterans

Our client is a national food manufacturer that wants to hire a military veteran as a Maintenance Mechanic at their local facility. A strong candidate should be able to accomplish the following tasks:

- Visually inspect and test machinery and equipment

- Listen for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunctions and discuss machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose the problem or repair machine

- Dismantle defective machines and equipment and install new or repaired parts

- Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery and equipment

- Install and repair electrical apparatuses, such as transformers, breakers, switches, receptacles, wiring, and electronic components of machinery and equipment

- Repair and maintain physical structure of equipment

- Operate cutting torches or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts

- Perform preventative maintenance on equipment

Work environment:

- Fast paced environment with, working in and around industrial machinery

- Working with material handling equipment on a daily basis

- Cold storage. Production rooms are kept at a constant 32 degrees (and below in certain areas), you must have the ability to withstand cold storage temps for extended periods of time

- Noise level varies and at times and can be loud

Job requirements:

- Prefer experience with forklift electrical systems, mechanical and hydraulic systems.

- Possess basic mathematical skills

- Ability to work frequent overtime

- Ability to read and take directions in English

- Must be capable of becoming certified to operate equipment

Base salary, $55 - $75K, overtime, full benefits, a 401k and PTO are available.
