The Biopharma Investment Banking VP will be responsible for providing client relationship management and investment banking services including strategic advisory services to corporate and private equity clients related to buy-side and sell-side M&A, debt and equity capital raising, designated by industry. The Biopharma Investment Banking VP will work closely with the senior team (Managing Directors and Directors) and help manage and coach Biopharma dedicated Analysts and Associates. Biopharma Investment Banking VPs are critical in generating valuation analyses including DCF, Transaction Comps, Trading Comps and when necessary Pro Forma M&A analysis. Moreover, Biopharma Investment Banking VPs will work closely with product teams such as ECM, Converts, M&A and Leverage Finance. The teammate will collaborate with the various product teams to produce content relevant for Corporate and Private Equity / VC clients. Another important focus will be to collaborate with the team to create landscape deep dives as well as help preparing business development pitches to foster our advisory discussions with Corporate clients. The Truist Securities Biopharma Investment Banking team has made significant inroads executing several IPOs, Follow-ons, Converts, Leveraged Finance and M&A deals in the last 18 months. The teammate VP will join a vibrant, diverse team focused on growing and establishing the Truist brand in the US / EU Life Sciences SMID Cap market. A science-oriented degree is not required but preferred; the candidate should have strong familiarity with scientific, drug development, device development concepts.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1.    Works closely with senior banking professionals, product specialists, clients and other internal and external constituencies to help drive the business growth 
2.    Leads support work, business development and/or product/client relationship management
3.    Assists in the generation of ideas and strategies for new business opportunities including prospecting
4.    Leads processes required to convert ideas to sales pitches, including due diligence execution and client pitch preparation
5.    Leads all aspects of transaction execution, including organizing teams and handling engagement with internal and external constituencies, selling product and advisory ideas internally and externally, and managing resolution of complex client transaction issues
6.    May supervise junior staff (i.e., Analysts, Interns, and Associates) by assigning and overseeing their day-to-day work
7.    Manages highly complex financial modeling, pitch-book production development, client relationship, and deal team travel, etc.


Required Qualifications:

1.    BA/BS degree
2.    Minimum of 8 years of related work experience
3.    In-depth knowledge of investment banking, market, industry sector and/or financial products 
4.    Advanced skills in financial analytical, sales, presentation, client relationship management, organizing, leadership and interpersonal relationship management 
5.    Superior skills in written and oral communications


Preferred Qualifications:


1.    MBA degree, with a Finance focus
2.    10+ years of related work experience
3.     2-4  years of management experience




- The annual base salary for this position in New York is $275,000
