Job Summary:


As a key member of our shipboard project team, the Warehouse Specialist & Ship Support Driver performs a variety of warehousing and logistics duties crucial to naval operations support. This role requires a thorough understanding of our storage plan and the ability to safely transport materials to and from the ship.


Responsibilities


Job Responsibilities:




  • Warehouse Management:


  • Verify materials against receiving documents, noting and reporting any discrepancies or damages


  • Route materials to prescribed storage locations


  • Store, stack, or palletize materials in accordance with established storage methods


  • Conduct regular inventory checks and rearrange stored materials as needed


  • Examine stored materials and report any deterioration or damage


  • Remove materials from storage and prepare them for shipment or delivery to the ship


  • Transportation and Delivery:


  • Safely operate company vehicles to transport materials between the warehouse and the naval ship


  • Ensure all materials are securely loaded and unloaded


  • Adhere to all security protocols for accessing the shipyard and naval vessel


  • Inventory Control:


  • Maintain accurate records of all incoming and outgoing materials


  • Participate in regular inventory audits


  • Use inventory management software to track stock levels and movements


  • Safety and Compliance:


  • Follow all safety procedures in both the warehouse and shipyard environments


  • Wear appropriate safety equipment at all times


  • Maintain a clean and organized work area


  • Communication:


  • Coordinate with project managers and ship personnel regarding material needs and deliveries


  • Report any issues or discrepancies promptly to supervisors




Qualifications


Maximum Qualification:




  • High school diploma or equivalent


  • 1-2 years of warehouse experience preferred


  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record


  • Ability to pass a background check for shipyard and vessel access


  • Proficiency in inventory management systems and basic computer skills


  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills


  • Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 lbs regularly, and occasionally up to 100 lbs


  • Forklift certification a plus
