Boeing AvionX is seeking a Tools and Environments Lead to join our team in either Plano, TX or Long Beach, CA.

This position provides technical leadership to a team representing multiple skill areas, which may include internal and external resources and customers. This position will work directly with an outstanding team dedicated to providing the product development, manufacturing and product support environments that enable multiple engineering teams and develops a strategic/proactive view of all AvionX product lines to identify environment requirements early that support program schedules.

This role will represent AvionX as the prime technical lead on all Information technology infrastructure items associated with any of the environments across multiple domains.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Tools and Environments execution team lead that develops the statement of work (SOW), assigns resources/tasks, and identifies/manages changes and priorities as needed.

  • Plans and executes daily operation of multiple product development, product support engineering, and manufacturing environments.

  • Is the assigned Cost Account Manager for the Tools and Environments work package and monitors/tracks performance on plan versus actuals for earned value reporting.

  • Identifies, analyzes, and reports schedule performance variances with detailed data to include performance to plan and estimate at complete reporting updates.

  • Leads the Program Management Review for the Tools and Environments work package that includes detailed performance analysis on all activities assigned/completed.

  • Is the Scrum Master for the team, manages team JIRA inputs and coordinates completeness/correctness of all planned activities/tasks and priorities.

  • Manages all technology infrastructures (multiple environments) for AvionX through planning, scheduling, controlling, executing, and sustaining lifecycles in coordination with Information Technology groups as needed.

  • Defines and implements the transition of existing legacy manufacturing systems to new infrastructure systems.

  • Maintains assigned servers within AvionX as the Business Systems Owner and actively works with Information Technology teams to ensure all servers are compliant and meet applicable security standards within the Boeing Company

  • Ensures business process documentation and tools are kept current for the AvionX Tools and Environments Team.

  • Maintains execution and supports troubleshooting of the Boeing AvionX Needs and Ideas (BANI) service desk for onboarding/offboarding and maintaining access to all required tools within the environment.  Works with existing team members to ensure high availability and accessibility of all environments for AvionX teams.

  • Coordinates with the Information technology business partner group on all AvionX issues within the Tools an Environments domains including management of all tool licensing budgets, requests, and issues.

  • Plans, executes, and mitigates technical and operational impact analysis related to new software/product releases, upgrades, and patches for all AvionX development and manufacturing environments.

  • Coordinates with BT&E teams to ensure lab support is in place and activities, roles, responsibilities are understood for the different lab environments across AvionX

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed locations.

This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active).

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science

  • 5+ years of experience in project management

  • 5+ years managing infrastructure support teams in operations environments (user help desk)

  • 3+ years of experience managing projects with Earned Value Management reporting requirements

  • 3+ years of experience managing engineering environments for product development teams (Hardware or firmware product development)

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • PMP certification

  • 3+ years of experience and knowledge of large-scale systems implementations (E.g. SAP, Manufacturing Operations Management systems)

  • 3+ years of experience managing information technology infrastructure and working cyber related technology patches/updates and mitigations

Typical Education/Experience: 

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master+12 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Relocation:

Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. 

Summary pay range: $150,450 - $203,550
