Media Services Technician About the Opportunity JOB SUMMARY: The Media Services Technician is responsible for operating and maintaining all AV equipment for live events within the Event Management venues. This includes but is not limited to Sound Reinforcement, Event Lighting, Stage Managing, Projection and Video Switching. Media Services Technicians offer support to lectures, classes, concerts, and all other events that require AV. MST's nyst initiate contact with event groups upon their arrival, coordinate the event's schedule with the client, and act as point of first contact for all venue-related issues, solving arising problems and contacting the appropriate people (CSC Building Managers, Facilities, Information Services, NUPD as well as the supervisor for Event Management) for assistance when necessary. Media Services Technicians are also responsible for enforcing all fire/safety rules and regulations. They are responsible for diagnosing any and all technical problems and will take the steps necessary to resolve such problems. They are also responsible for maintaining an orderly work area as well as ensuring the AV storage areas are organized. It is also the responsibility of the Media Services Technician to notify their Director when inventory is low or there is equipment that is not working properly. Knowledge of AV equipment is preferred but not necessary so long as you're tech savvy. Applicants must be outgoing, dependable and be able to provide quality customer service and possess the ability to solve problems quickly and courteously. Must be comfortable working in a team setting. Live events can be very fun and entertaining but also fast paced and at times high stress, Media Services Technician must be able to stay calm and collected during events.
