Adjunct Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) Instructor | Iowa Western - Military Veterans

The Adjunct Certified Nurse Aide Instructor is responsible for organizing and teaching Nurse Aide classes in a variety of modalities. Instructors lead classroom, lab and clinical portions of the course. The Certified Nursing Aide Instructor will work closely with other Nurse Aide instructors and the health programs coordinator. Teach Nurse Aide classes in Council Bluffs and other Iowa Western Centers as needed. Must be comfortable teaching a variety of methods; online, lecture, or lab and capable of creating an environment conducive to student learning. Prepare supplies needed at the Centers for Nurse Aide classes when offered Must evaluate and report student performances and progress in courses in accordance with college and division policies and procedures, assess student learning outcomes in courses each term, and refer students to college resources, and ability to organize and present various curriculum concepts to a wide range of students with varying backgrounds and abilities and adjust teaching techniques accordingly. Maintain the nurse aide records to comply with state and federal regulations. Maintain all Nurse Aide records required by the college, the Department of Education and the Department of Inspections and Appeals and Licensure. Maintain student relationships by providing quality customer service. Be able and willing to represent the College in the most positive manner with prospective, former and current students, clients, suppliers and the community we serve. CNA Instructor is a Registered Nurse, Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred, with a minimum of two years of Registered Nurse experience. One year of Long-Term Care experience as a Registered Nurse, per State of Iowa Mandates. Teaching Experience is preferred. Must complete a mandatory Train the Trainer /Teach the Teacher course, offered at Iowa Western, post hire, Candidate must have excellent nursing skills and be flexible and willing to learn and keep current with new technology and learning strategies. Ability to pass a background check, a valid U.S driver's license. Must meet Minimum Faculty Standards for hire and adhere to college policies and procedures. Must be a self-motivated, energetic and creative individual with strong personal computer skills and proven success working within a team-based environment. Must have excellent customer service, communication and promotional skills Must be able to work independently, accept responsibility with limited supervision, manage multiple tasks to completion, and work with frequent interruptions. Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must possess excellent human relations skills. Be able to establish relationships within the College and the community that will further promote future opportunities for Continuing Education programs. Ability to pass a background check
