Job Description Summary

The Regional Director of New Student Programs & Engagement provides leadership and vision in the development, implementation, and evaluation of effective student onboarding and engagement experiences through orientation and student involvement programs.

Job Description

Direct the regional orientation programs (SOAR) including the the online regional orientation Learning Management System (Canvas) utilized within orientation programs. Hire, train, and supervise orientation student staff. Collaborate with appropriate departments to maintain the Regional orientation website and folder materials, admission communication, and other marketing materials. Develop and coordinate new student parent & family communication and resources. Provide senior oversight to the functioning of regional student organizations in accordance with university policies. Supervise the Regional Coordinator of Student Activities and classified staff administrative assistant. Provide senior oversight to organization-management software and serve as the first-line resource to departmental pages. Serve as the Independent Contractor Reviewer for regional student organizations. Collaborate with the Oxford’s Student Activities and Orientation offices for university-wide initiatives and collaborations. Develop, coordinate, assess, and recruit for the Regional Leadership Co-curricular Leadership Program. Instruct leadership development courses such as EDL290, as needed. Develop leadership training opportunities for students and student organizations. Manage and oversee budgets for the Office of Student Activities, Orientation, and Regional Activities at Miami (programming board). Serve on university-wide and Regional Campus committees as appropriate.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master's Degree. Seven years of professional experience in higher education

Consideration will be given to candidates with supervisory experience. Experience working with new student orientations and/or college student transition programs. Experience organizing and developing leaders through practical application and learning. Experience with diverse, first-generation and/or commuter college students. Demonstrated experience in planning and implementing student events and programs. Experience with learning management systems. Experience with SLATE.
