Position Specific Description

Come join our team! We are seeking an experienced accountant for one of the fastest growing Oil & Gas companies. The ideal candidate will have onshore experience combined with a degree in Accounting/Finance and excellent Excel skills to support the Accounting team. Duties & Responsibilities:
• Demonstrate knowledge of the department's processes and Internal Controls while ensuring compliance with and documentation of those controls.

• Identify and implement changes and improvements thereto as they become necessary.
• Coordination of new assets integration into the accounting system as a result of acquisition and drilling activities.
• Review and posting of all joint interest transactions including AFE budget and actual data, cost allocation accuracy and function, material transfers, overhead calculations, owner netting, and owner billing statements.

• Review and assist Land in the preparation of JE (s)for DOI estimates.
• Responding to client and working interest owner inquiries.
• Ensure client accounting closing schedules are met.
• Ensure internal controls are followed and manage internal and external audits
• Ensuring compliance of all tasks with relevant Accounting standards and SOX controls
• Performs monthly Account Reconciliations.
• Review and assist monthly payroll and overhead process, clearing G&A.
• Ad Hoc projects requested by JIB Manager/Supervisor.

Preferred /qualifications:
• Oil & Gas Revenue experience with domestic on-shore operators.
• Excellent fundamental accounting skills; hands on experience with general ledger reconciliations
• Knowledge of Oil & Gas Systems specifically Excalibur or Bolo
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment, manage multiple tasks and meet short deadlines
• Ability to demonstrate initiative and interact effectively with others in a team environment
• Ability to communicate effectively (oral and written) with internal & external clients
• Advanced Excel skills
• Fluctuations in workloads will require some overtime

• Problem solving and analytical thinking as necessary to accomplish accounting objectives

Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Prepares financial reports that are in compliance with GAAP, in a timely manner, to accurately reflect the financial status of the company
• Maintains a good understanding of, and applies, GAAP, SEC regulations, and relative company policies, practices and procedures
• Assures accounting integrity of corporate financial data through the implementation of appropriate internal controls
• Prepares schedules and journal entries
• Provides guidance and direction to other team members
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned

•Experience: 4+ years
