SUMMARY

Mortenson is currently seeking an experienced Senior Scheduler I with the ability to interact with a variety of staff at all levels in an ever-changing environment, remaining flexible, resourceful, proactive, and efficient with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.

The Senior Scheduler will be a centralized resource with experience and capability to support planning and scheduling needs across multiple project types and operating groups.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform non-routine planning and scheduling assignments.

  • Lead and coordinate site teams and trade partners in the development of project schedules using common CPM scheduling programs.
  • Ensure that corporate planning and scheduling standards are implemented and that all project related activities comply.

Provide planning and scheduling support to project teams, field leaders and trade partners:
  • Assist with proposals and pursuit schedules as needed.
  • Assist site teams in the development of detailed project schedules as needed.
  • Support project teams through monitoring and updating of project schedules as needed.
  • Coach, mentor, and train project teams, field personnel or others in basic planning and scheduling concepts.
  • Establish and nurture teamwork environment.
  • Provide work direction and support transition to project team.
  • Identify hiring needs and participate in hiring, discipline, and dismissal decisions if needed.
  • Develop leadership potential through appropriate task assignments and career growth opportunities.
  • Implement Mortenson's Zero Injury Safety Program at project site.

QUALIFICATIONS and EDUCATION
  • Minimum of four (4) years construction experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of scheduling concepts, principles, practices, and common CPM software including P6.
  • Thorough knowledge of standard construction practices and project sequencing.
  • Shown ability to exercise creativity and mature judgment in anticipating and solving unprecedented problems on complex projects.
  • Strong plan and specification reading, review and interpretation skills.
  • Basic knowledge of project management, contracts, and buyout.
  • Working knowledge of 4D visual planning methodologies.
  • Strong organization and team skills.
  • Basic knowledge of cost and resource loaded schedules.
  • Basic knowledge of claims avoidance and resolution techniques.
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional, collaborative, team-based environment.
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills with initiative to seek innovative solutions.
  • Results-oriented to ensure delivery of appropriate products and services in an accurate, complete, and timely fashion.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Active listening skills and effective communication including an openness to diverse input and feedback.
  • Ability to travel.
  • Current driver's license.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction, Civil, or Architectural Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent field.
