Civil Craft Operator - Blevins - Military Veterans

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION
Responsible for operating equipment as directed and specified while adhering to all rules and regulations as mandated by Mortenson safety policies and procedures.

KEY RESULT AREAS (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)
A. Operate the following equipment based on the requirements of the project: 1. Blade 2. Dozer 3. Loader 4. Scraper 5. Forklift/Telehandler 6. Crane 7. Bobcat/Skid-steer 8. Boom Lifts/Aerial Lifts 9. Roller 10. Backhoe 11. Track Crane
B. Follow prescribed safety regulations
C. Ensure that all housekeeping is maintained in a clear and orderly fashion in assigned area
D. Perform routine maintenance to include lubricating, fueling and cleaning
E. Observe equipment operation to detect machine malfunction
F. Follow work plans and pre-task cards
G. Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels
H. All other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
A. Strong teamwork orientation

D. Ability to move levers, shift gears, depress pedals and maneuver steering wheel to operator equipment
E. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instruction, procedure manuals, and load charts
F. Knowledge of equipment and their uses
G. Understand and apply basic mathematical skills (adding, subtracting, division, & multiplication)
H. Ability to work independently
I. Active listening skills and effective communication including an openness to diverse input and feedback
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
A. Equipment certifications as required
B. Minimum one year of related experience
C. Current driver's license of proper class and necessary endorsements as required by law
