SUMMARY

Mortenson is seeking a Senior Payroll Administrator who will provide timely and accurate processing of multi-state payroll transactions.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Multi state payroll experience
  • Understanding/experience with prevailing wage/IRA
  • Some experience with union payrolls
  • Responsible for understanding and implementing the end-to-end process of payroll starting with employee set-up through issuing of paycheck and all relevant reporting and filings
  • Responsible for the review and reconciliation of project timecards prior to weekly pay run
  • Prepare and review weekly payroll including data entry of payroll information and associated reporting, as needed
  • Prepare daily off-cycle checks which may include retroactive pay as needed
  • Research and resolve complex payroll inquiries from Mortenson Project Teams, Business Services areas or individual team members via phone or email.
  • Act as Payroll team member liaison for Mortenson Project teams
  • Responsible for set-up of salary and pay related updates, and termination of craft payroll team members
  • Mentor and provide training for payroll associates and administrators as required
  • Additional payroll duties which will include activities such as providing unemployment earnings, union reporting and reconciliation, garnishments, payroll tax processing and child support
  • Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience
  • Minimum of five years payroll experience in a multi-state environment
  • Oracle cloud/HCM payroll processing system experience
  • Works well under pressure
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Experience working in Excel
  • Works well with other people as a team but also independently
  • Ability to communicate with a variety of people with different backgrounds
  • Have capacity to work within a flexible schedule
