In this role, the SWIFT Clinician will provide professional mental health crisis assessment, treatment/intervention and prevention/education services in support UC Riverside's commitment to re-envisioning campus safety, fostering a welcoming service-oriented campus community. The SWIFT Clinician must be a skilled professional who is multi-culturally proficient/affirming, has experience with trauma-informed care, and demonstrates their experience in providing crisis intervention services. The SWIFT Clinician will respond to crisis situations and may deliver on- and off-site, immediate and personalized interventions within a framework of inclusion, excellence, and social justice. A co-response model, pairing clinician with another professional staff member or Campus Safety Responder (a non-sworn professional trained in de-escalation) for all calls outside of the office will be utilized. This role will also help students navigate resources on- and off-campus, and support students who have challenges related to post-hospitalization/discharge from behavioral health facilities. This role will work outside of traditional work hours (M-F 11am - 8 pm and/or 4 days at 10 hours, 9 am - 8 pm). Additionally, the classification title and salary range for this position are currently under review. The classification for this position is covered under the UPTE-CWA (Residual Health Care Professionals (HX). Licensure in California is required to begin work in this position. The full salary range for the SWIFT Clinician is $78,700.00 - $145,100.00 annually. However, the expected pay scale for this position is $90,000 - $111,900 annually. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs. Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff. As a university employee, you will be required to comply with all applicable university policies and/or collective bargaining agreements, as may be amended from time to time. Federal, state, or local government directives may impose additional requirements. Requirements: Educational Requirements Master's degree in related area. Required Masters or Doctorate in Psychology or other related Behavioral Health Discipline Required. Required Conditions Maintenance of appropriate continuing education and ongoing education asrequired for licensure and credentialing/privileging at UCR. Required Experience Requirements 6 - 10 years of related experience. Required Demonstrated commitment and experience in providing trauma-informed and diversity, equity and inclusive informed and valued care. Required Experience providing mental health crisis assessments. Required Experience and value providing multi-culturally proficient/affirming clinical care. Required Experience working in a university or college setting. Preferred License Requirements Licensed in behavioral health counseling discipline. Required Current, valid license as a behavioral health professional in California (LCSW/LMFT/Psychologist) or ability to gain licensure in California prior to beginning work. Note: maintenance of licensure in good standing is a requirement of continued employment. Develops and communicates treatment plans, provides therapeutic crisis intervention/management and emergency services as required. Responding to incoming calls to SWIFT crisis phone/text line, assess need, and determine how to respond. Triage calls/encounters to determine immediate safety by conducting a risk assessment. Provide immediate counseling support to students experiencing a mental health crisis. Assist with stabilizing/ deescalating students who are distressed/disruptive/ agitated on campus. Respond to legal/ethical matters- e.g. requirements to report the observed or suspected abuse or neglect of children, dependent adults, or elders to designated law enforcement or social service agencies. Advocate for and accompany students, e.g. as a CARE advocate (campus Sexual Violence/Sexual Harassment (SVSH) response department), to support SART exams and/or hospitalization. Refer clients to specialty psychological/psychiatric and other mental health-related services on and off campus. Utilizes specialized training and skills as an LPS certified clinician to determine if, and support, the involuntary hospitalization of individuals as may be determined necessary Provides on-site assessment and intervention for students identified to be experiencing some mental health related distress. Respond to and evaluate wellness/welfare checks of UCR students who are reported to be in mental health distress. 35% Assesses clients and determines appropriate therapeutic approach; provides guidance to other providers on casework. Provides brief, ongoing follow-up care and case management support for small 'caseload' of students generated from service 'calls' utilizing knowledge of intersectionality, multiculturalism, and of diversity and inclusion and their impact on psychological service delivery in a university setting to provide direct clinical care. Assist with post-hospitalization case management. Assist with coordinating referrals to campus and community services. Provide ongoing risk assessment, safety planning, bridge support, and stabilization as needed. Regularly obtain ROIs for all interested parties in order to facilitate continuity of care for students. Communicate and consult with daytime clinicians and follow up teams (e.g. CAPS and campus Case Managers) as appropriate to ensure continuity of care/ transfer of care after-hours. 35% Clinical Documentation and Case Management: *Completes accurate and concise clinical documentation for all clinical contacts in compliance with legal, ethical and professional standards and in compliance with UC and UCR Quality Assurance policies. *In compliance with SWIFT policies and procedures, manages caseload appropriately. 10% Conducts seminars and trains professional and paraprofessional staff. Provides psycho-educational workshops, outreach, and consultation for students, faculty, and staff regarding student mental well-being and concerns.
