This includes: Managing the student conduct system and processes for alleged academic and non-academic violations including student violations of Title IX-related and other anti-discrimination policies, educating the campus community about the student conduct and academic integrity processes; serving as a resource and consultant to students, faculty and staff; investigating and adjudicating complaints and grievances, maintaining confidential records, and ensuring institutional compliance and reporting. The Assistant Director will assist in management of an annual budget in excess of $740,000 and supervision of professional and paraprofessional staff and volunteers. They will have responsibility for day-to-day direct supervision of 2 - 4 professional Conduct Coordinators. The Assistant Director is a primary liaison to UCR Housing Services/Residential Education, coordinates adjudication for cases of alleged violations of the University Standards of Conduct that occur in campus housing facilities, and coordinates educational outreach activities and development of office resources, including written materials, website information, and training/workshops. Manages the program's comprehensive online database and data reporting (Symplicity Advocate). The salary range for the Assistant Director of Student Conduct & Academic Integrity Programs is $64,300 - $114,300 annually. However, the expected pay scale for this position is up to $101,800 annually. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs. Federal, state, or local government directives may impose additional requirements. Requirements: Educational Requirements Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training. Required Master's degree in relevant field (e.g. higher education administration, educational administration, student development, etc.) Preferred Experience Requirements 6 - 10 years of related experience. Required Previous supervisory/managerial experience. Preferred Professional student conduct-related experience at a college or university. Preferred Experience in developing proactive and responsive educational programs. Preferred Experience in designing and maintaining official websites. Preferred Experience in directing, organizing, and prioritizing workload to meet required deadlines and department objectives. Preferred Experience working with university or college residence life/housing programs. Preferred Experience in counseling or addressing issues of student development/student behavior in the college or university setting. Preferred Experience drafting and composing professional documents including correspondence, proposals, policies, manuals, pamphlets and brochures. Knowledge of student development theories and their application, especially as they relate to student conduct and academic integrity issues. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of common University-specific computer application programs and knowledge of University and departmental principles and procedures involved in risk assessment and evaluating risks as to likelihood and consequences. Demonstrated computer skills (word processing, database management, presentation programs, and graphic design) sufficient to oversee the development and maintenance of a complex and secure database and website. Demonstrated commitment and sensitivity to the needs of a culturally diverse student body with diverse values and priorities. Skills in designing and maintaining official websites. Familiarity with state and federal law as it pertains to higher education, especially relating to student life, student conduct, due process, individual rights, educational records, liability issues, and privacy. Skills in counseling or addressing issues of student development/student behavior in the college or university setting. Skills in conflict resolution, mediation and/or negotiation. Skills in developing proactive and responsive educational programs. Demonstrated ability to work independently on sensitive, confidential, volatile, and complicated issues with tact and political acumen. Demonstrated ability to analyze problems/issues, gather data and information, evaluate and recommend alternative solutions, or effect solutions with a tolerance for ambiguity and change, when necessary. Advise Conduct Committees. In consultation with the Director, collaborate with the UCR Office of Civil Rights in cases involving allegations of sexual assault, sexual harassment and/or gender discrimination under Title IX, and Discrimination to ensure appropriate help and support to the complainant and/or respondent. Consult with the Director and SCAIP staff on a weekly basis to ensure educational orientation, consistency, timeliness and fairness in the discipline process. Collect and analyze data and prepare reports as needed, using the department's database. 5% Outreach, Education & Training: In consultation with the Director, work collaboratively with faculty, staff and students to assess current issues and concerns with the University community and develops programs, workshops, and seminars to address them. Design and coordinate outreach presentations on student conduct generally, and specifically, to various constituencies including, but not limited to faculty, staff, teaching assistants, housing athletics, student organizations and new student orientation. Develop, promote, coordinate and present student outreach programs that encourage community development and enhance appreciation for responsible behavior and good citizenship. Represent SCAIP at appropriate campus-wide forums, presentations, and training sessions. Liaison Activities: Build and maintain positive working relationships with various offices at UCR, including all academic departments and faculty, the colleges, Admissions, Registrar, Financial Aid, Housing, Police and all units in student affairs.
