The Department of Pathology and Cell Biology at Columbia University Irving Medical Center seeks a highly qualified researcher who will primarily be technical and involves sample processing, performing lab tests, confirming data, animal studies, and other logistical laboratory testing support. The candidate will also be required to recruit and consent volunteers, and screen subjects. Responsible for other duties as assigned. A successful candidate will be a self-starter, have excellent organizational and record keeping skills, and be able to multi-task while maintaining precision and quickness. Job Function : 40% - Collecting and running samples, animal work 40% - Recording/analyzing data 15% - General lab maintenance 5% - Other duties as assigned Minimum Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree in neuroscience, biology, biomedical science, or comparable scientific field and 4 years of laboratory research experience preferred. Minimum Skills Required: Phlebotomy, sample processing experience, ability to work with small animals. Preferred Qualifications : Ability to communicate effectively in English with colleagues and outside personnel Impeccable record keeping skills, compatible with a clinical operation Ability to work in teams, good interpersonal skills Hiring Salary Range: Staff Associate I: $62,400- $66, 817.76 Columbia University is an Equal Opportunity Employer / Disability / Veteran Pay Transparency Disclosure The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training.
