Training & Sales Enablement Manager

Hearst Bay Area's world-class sales organization seeks an experienced Training & Sales Enablement Manager to fuel our continued growth and contribute to our record profit growth. Reporting to the Sr. Vice President of Advertising, we're looking for an analytical and passionate trainer to play a key role in empowering and aligning our field sales organizations with the enablement tools and learning programs needed to effectively cultivate and drive sales opportunities and closed-won successes. The preferred candidate will focus on driving our expertise around the modern buyer's journey, our mix of marketing solutions (Print/Digital Display/Video/Social Media/Video Production as just a few examples), sales enablement tools, and how we provide businesses with a holistic and appropriate marketing mix for their individual needs.

Through educating our sales division on the modern consumer journey and how our strategic recommendations and solutions help our advertisers drive their business growth, key elements to success in this role include building a strong partnership with sales and product owners, expertise in sales enablement tools and the go-to resource for the HBA sales division, cross-departmental collaboration, project management, intellectual curiosity for local advertising and media trends, exceptional facilitation/coaching/instructional design skills, and a highly motivated self-starter mindset.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute our Global New Hire onboarding program focused on Consultative Sales Training | Product Training | Process Training
  • Lead facilitator on pre-Sales Enablement Platforms and Resources for new hire training (SFDC/Frequence/Gong/Media Radar/etc.)
  • Co-facilitation on Products for New Hire Training
  • Global Admin Logistics Lead for global new hire program (co-manage SFDC training queue, onboard new hires in LMS, manage Microsoft Teams channels)
  • Serves as a "go-to" knowledge-based resource for Sales, Process, and Products for all advertising account executives (support 1:1 global coaching needs)
  • Produce learning sessions globally (at times pre-recorded, other times live facilitation).
  • Partner with subject matter experts to align sales assets with enablement.
  • Maintain corporate catalog listing of available training support for leaders/sales teams.
  • Report on progress of Global Enablement programs delivered to the HNP sales division.
  • Develop and execute on learner adoption and engagement programs such as contests, leaderboards, badging, and gamification.
  • Drive adoption of enablement tools and systems.
  • Other ad-hoc training as needed (supporting global launches/workshops/training collateral design/instructional design)

Requirements:
  • A minimum bachelor's degree is required.
  • 5+ years in B2B sales/operations/sales enablement, and/or learning & development (Digital Media preferred).
  • Excellent public speaking skills, with the ability to motivate in front of a classroom or one-on-one.
  • Quantifiable experience with classroom training, curriculum creation, e-learning, and one-on-one direction preferably within a tech, sales, or media environment.
  • Strong analytical skills to analyze sales data to identify trends.
  • Experience with Salesforce, Learning Management Systems (Brainshark is a plus), Instructional Design, and Project Management
  • Experience role playing sales calls, cold calling, customer interaction scenarios, and negotiations.
  • Ability to work independently, possessing a strong sense of initiative and self-motivation.
  • Digital product knowledge (SEO, SEM, Social, Programmatic, CTV/OTT, Video, Email marketing)
  • Minimum 5 years project / program management experience.
  • Proven experience in managing multiple large projects / programs in an enterprise environment.
  • Experience with solution selling.
  • Knowledge of sales enablement methodologies (Challenger/SPIN preferred), and enablement tools and technologies (SFDC, Gong, etc.).
  • Demonstrated ability of deep listening and curiosity.
  • An ability to interact with and influence a wide range of employees including senior management, clearly communicate and influence key stakeholders around enablement strategies, and work well under pressure and meet deadlines.

In accordance with applicable law, Hearst is required to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation for this role if hired in California. The reasonable estimate is between $100,000 and $120,000. Please note this information is specific to those hired in San Francisco. If this role is open to candidates outside of San Francisco, the salary range would be aligned to that specific location. A final decision on the successful candidate's starting salary will be based on a number of permissible, non-discriminatory factors, including but not limited to skills and experience, training, certifications, and education.
