Fuel Systems Supervisor - Military Veterans

This is a supervisory position primarily based at one of the three (3) Amentum locations in Iraq. The Fuel Systems Supervisor is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the complete fuel storage and distribution system from the bulk storage, supplementary storage, and day tanks to the distribution systems to the generators and Service Station, including backup fuel storage tanks. The incumbent is responsible for operating and maintaining pumps, valves, and monitor flow and tank levels. Directs a staff of Foreign National (FN) and Local National (LN) employees to successfully operate maintain and repair all fuel operations. This position reports to the O&M Manager. The duties and responsibilities listed below are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all inclusive.
DUTIES:
- Responsible for the fuel operations in accordance with work instructions and safety procedures directed by the Utilities Manager.
- Manages all petroleum operations conducted on the Site compound.
- Responsible for the quality, quantity and timeliness of fuel distribution and storage operations.
- Provide guidance and assistance to the fuel personnel; monitors quality, quantity and timeliness of work performed.
- Oversees quality, safety, and environmental issues within the Fuels Department.
- Ensures compliance with the Statement of Work (SOW) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
- Ensures the fuel section is aware of and complies with government and company policies and procedures.
- Randomly inspect the worksite for deficiencies and initiates corrective action.
- Oversees, reviews, and ensures all accountability documents are complete, accurate and submitted on schedule.
- Monitors fuel accountability and record keeping, ensures fuel consumption and inventory are accurate.
- Ensures all reporting to the government customer is timely and accurate.
- Operates and maintains a Retail Service Station.
- May be required to drive a fuel delivery truck to deliver, refuel/defuel remote fuel oil tanks within the Site.
- Maintain fuel pumps and storage tanks.
- Responsible to order parts and materials related to the fuel systems.
- Must have minimum of five (5) years' experience as a certified Petroleum Operations Technician.
- Must have previous Fuel Truck Driver experience/ License
- Ability to supervise required staff.
- Knowledge of applicable US Codes and accepted trade practices.
- Previous fuel supervisory experience in an OCONUS environment with a multi-national workforce.
- Must have good organizational and communication skills with the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions independently.
- Education: A high school diploma or GED is required. Petroleum Operations Certification (military or civilian equivalent.
- Passport, Licenses and Certifications: As part of pre-contingency requirements, by the time the visa process starts, candidates must possess a valid passport of home country with a minimum of 18 months remaining to expiration date with 8 blank pages. Valid drivers' license from Home of Record.
- Language Skills: Strong professional English communication skills, both oral and written.
- Medical: Favorable passage of a drug screen and physical examination.
DESIRED:
- Relevant overseas fuel operations experience.
- Experience working with PAE/Amentum.

- Knowledge of ALL principles and processes involved in operating and supporting fuel storage and delivery functions at an overseas facility.
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing excellent customer services.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that requires handling multiple tasks at a given time and rapidly adapting to changing priorities and schedules.
- Cross-cultural sensitivity with an international perspective.

- Expert computer skills, specifically in Microsoft Word and Excel.

WORKING AND LIVING CONDITIONS:
This position may be located in a war zone, in an environment with harsh and dangerous working and living conditions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may regularly be exposed to extreme and austere desert-like environment. Temperatures can reach 120- 130 degrees Fahrenheit/50-55 degrees Celsius during the summer months. Employees must be willing and able to perform regular job requirements in this austere, extreme environment, as well as willing and able to deploy to Iraq for extended periods. Work schedules are a minimum of 6 days per week and 10 hours per day, while some jobs have higher daily and weekly minimums. Employees must be willing and able to perform physical activities including, but not limited to, heavy lifting and moving of items, parts, assemblies, and equipment up to the safety regulation maximum; climbing in and out of equipment; crawling; and working outdoors. This includes being able to lift and carry 40 pounds of personal protective equipment for extended periods of time and being capable of running and 'duck & cover' during emergencies without putting oneself or others at risk.
