UW Information Technology (UW-IT) is the central information technology organization for the University of Washington, responsible for strategic planning, oversight, and direction of the UW’s IT infrastructure, resources, and services. UW-IT provides critical technology support to all three campuses, UW Medicine, and research operations around the world, partnering with the UW community to enable innovation, learning, discovery, and service."
Data & Applications (D&A) is the division in UW-IT that runs the university’s academic and business systems, productivity platforms, enterprise integrations, learning analytics and data for decision-making and is also responsible for the accessibility of UW’s digital resources.
This position resides in the Data Integrations unit within D&A. This unit provides and operates point-to-point integrations between Enterprise and other systems, thus enabling data to flow between Enterprise and other systems. Data Integrations is responsible for the creation and ongoing operation of these integrations, from initial requirements discovery through retirement.
The Integration Engineer fulfills a key role in supporting the University’s enterprise-wide Human Resources. Payroll, and Finance system (Workday). This position designs, implements, operates, supports, and maintains integrations between Workday and internal and external UW information systems to achieve the University’s quality and business objectives for Human Resources, Payroll, and Finance.
This position has responsibility to contribute toward ongoing implementations of a large number of integrations with Workday's Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) system as well as support those in production. These integrations involve many different systems across a diverse range of internal and external partners. This position translates HR/Payroll/Finance requirements into Workday integrations. The Integration Engineer designs, develops, and maintains existing and new interfaces into and out of Workday. This position develops solutions using a standard, quality-driven approach. This position identifies and communicates gaps or trade-offs in designs across technical and non-technical audiences using effective communication skills. The Integration Engineer participates in recommending the most effective and efficient integration design architecture. This position also supports, troubleshoots and documents integration issues as they arise with the goal of maintaining a stable and robust Workday system.
