The University depends upon UEC to provide services that cannot be supported with state funds. We're responsible for business enterprises on campus including, but not limited to, dining, bookstore, convenience store, and vending services. We also serve as the grantee for federal, state, and local funding for research and sponsored projects. Position Summary Temporary, Non Exempt, Full Time, Benefited position through 6/30/2025 (Appointment may be renewed annually based upon availability of funds, availability of work and satisfactory job performance). Salary: $3,276.00-$4,004.00 per month. Location: CSRI Moreno Valley. Off campus. Work Schedule 40 hours per week. 8:45AM-5:15PM Monday through Friday. Some nights and weekends may be required. Typical Activities Under minimal supervision of the Center Manager, the Security Guard will work independently to: Be responsible for assisting clients with becoming more positive, productive, prosocial members in the community by monitoring clients' compliance with program rules. Conduct regular rounds to deter, observe, and report various activities, deter criminal activity, and maintain a secure environment. Prepare and maintain accurate records, documents, and outside correspondence according to agency specifications. Security Guards will manage time and organize work demands appropriately, as well as meet deadlines established by Supervisor and/or Administration. Conduct monthly inspection of security systems to ensure proper functioning. Be responsible for managing access for employees, visitors, and vehicles in accordance with established protocols. Greet and assist clients, customers, and the general public entering the facility. Handle incoming and outcoming correspondence, providing information and directing calls as needed in a timely manner. Provide courteous and professional customer service to all facility visitors, ensuring a welcoming environment. Some travel required. Minimum Qualifications Education: High School diploma. Experience: 6 months security guard experience. Other: Valid guard card De-escalation techniques, self-starter, excellent oral and written communication. Maintain cooperative working relationships, handle confidential and sensitive information. Proficiency in using surveillance equipment. Proficiency in using standard office software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Preferred Qualifications One year security experience.
